We love The Colour Monster by Anna Llenas. It's a wonderful book for younger readers who may be struggling to understand their own or others' emotions.

Reading is a habit that needs to be nurtured.
The more children are encouraged to read, the more likely they are to develop a love of books and all the cognitive and emotional benefits that come with it.
So keep offering books.
Keep talking about reading.
Keep showing interest.
Small, consistent moments can make a big difference.

Keep conversations about books just that - conversations.
Children are tested enough at school, so reading at home doesn't need to feel like another quiz.
Ask what they enjoyed, which character made them laugh, or what surprised them. Show genuine interest and let the conversation flow naturally.
When books become something worth talking about, reading becomes something worth coming back to.
Be a book enthusiast! ๐
Your enthusiasm is contagious. Talk about books with excitement, share the stories you're enjoying, and celebrate the books your child chooses, too.
The more positive and enthusiastic you are about reading, the more likely your child is to see it as something to enjoy.

One of the best things you can do as a parent is be a reading role model.
Let your child see you reading, talk about the books you're enjoying, and keep books within easy reach at home and when you're out and about.
When children see the adults around them choosing to read, reading becomes something they want to do too.
Is your child choosing books that seem too easy, too difficult, or just not what you had in mind?
That's often a great sign. It means they're reading for their interests, not just for school.
Whether it's comics, fact books, joke books or chunky novels, every page they choose to read helps build confidence and enjoyment.
All reading counts, and giving children the freedom to choose is one of the biggest motivators for reading.
There's less than a day left for your chance to win all of these booksโผ๏ธ
