🦋🐛 The Very Hungry Caterpillar visits Little Blossoms Nursery! 🐛🦋
Today, Vicky from Baskervilles Gymnastics visited Little Blossoms Nursery to deliver a preschool gymnastics session, themed around one of our favourite books — The Very Hungry Caterpillar! 📖✨
We began by curling up into a tiny ball in our yoga position, becoming the egg resting on its little green leaf. 🍃 We then hatched out of our eggs and became hungry little caterpillars, walking around on our hands and feet.
Just like the caterpillar in the story, we ate our way through apples, plums, pears, strawberries🍎🍐🍓 We practised gym stretch, tuck sit and back support.
Each gymnast then had their very own caterpillar ribbon. They jumped over it, crawled over it and then rolled it up into a tiny little cocoon. 🐛➡️🟤
And then… it transformed into a beautiful butterfly! 🦋 The gymnasts flew around the room and stretched out their wings and balanced on one leg.
Vicky then set up a fantastic gymnastics circuit where the gymnasts:
🤸♀️ Balanced along the beam
🤸♂️ Practised forward rolls on the mats
🌿 Practised the leaf position
💪 Tried a gymnastics back support
🐰 Performed bunny hops through the hoop
We finished our session with The Butterfly song, flying, twisting and stretching before gently landing on the floor and going to sleep. 💤🦋
And, of course, no Baskervilles session would be complete without our favourite Baskervilles Rocket! 🚀
5… 4… 3… 2… 1… BLAST OFF! 🚀✨
The gymnasts were absolutely fantastic today! 🌟
