We are an active student group who are open to all students in University of Bath (although most of our members are architects or civil engineers). We run all sorts of fun events and are a great way to make friends on your course. The types of events that we run are: a BBQ, a Christmas Ball, Mini Golf, Nights Out, Networking Events, Lectures and loads more! We look forward to seeing you at our events!

Join us for an exclusive public lecture with Vinu Daniel, founder of Wallmakers and one of the leading voices in sustainable architecture today.
Based in Kerala, India, Wallmakers is internationally recognised for transforming discarded and natural materials into innovative, low-impact buildings. Their projects use mud, reclaimed wood, debris and waste to create spaces that are environmentally responsive, socially conscious and architecturally bold.
Winner of the 2022 Royal Academy Dorfman Award, the practice is known for acclaimed projects including Pirouette House, The Ledge and St. George Orthodox Church. Their work challenges conventional construction methods while showing how design can respond creatively to the climate crisis.
The talk will explore Vinu Daniel’s approach to sustainable design, material experimentation and building with local resources.

Discover the real power and challenges of community architecture. 👷♂️🪵
Join us for an exclusive public lecture with Jan Glasmeier, a German architect with an impressive background, having worked with Foster+Partners in London and Abu Dhabi, and Arup in Singapore before moving to South-East Asia.
For the past decade, Jan has dedicated his work to the Thai-Burma border, building for marginalised migrant communities from Burma. His deep connection with local communities has resulted in more than 60 impactful projects, including the Ah Yone Oo School, Irrawaddy Flower Garden School, and the New Training Center for Mae Tao Clinic in Thailand, and Wake-Up School in Uganda.
The talk will showcase community architecture projects built by Simple Architecture over the past ten years. Discover how sustainable architecture can meet social purposes through collaborative and consultative design processes, and see the flexibility, durability, and sustainability of local materials like recycled wood, bamboo, earthen bricks, and natural plasters
