hello! my name is emily and i’ll be taking over the ase instagram this week, the last week of the summer program! i’m from bucks county, pennsylvania, and am a rising senior at franklin and marshall college majoring in english creative writing with a minor in film. i’ve had a great four weeks in bath with ase so far, and am looking forward to taking you all along for the final week! look out for my stories starting tomorrow!

Hi everyone!! My name is Audrey, and I’m taking over the ASE Instagram this week! I’m a rising senior English major/theater minor at Skidmore College. I live in New Jersey and I love to make music - I play bass and guitar and I love to sing! I am also the world’s biggest Stevie Nicks fan. I’m in the main summer school at ASE, and as part of one of my classes, I just began writing a novel! I have been having so much fun in Bath and I have met some incredible people. Come along with me this week as I try a new coffee shop every day and try not to buy a daily new book at Mr. B’s! Keep your eye out for new stories! 👀

Hi!! This is Maggie and I will be taking over for the third week of Su’26 with ASE! I’m from Harrington Park, NJ and I will be a rising junior at Skidmore College! I am double majoring in Education Studies and Sociology, and I play on the women’s tennis team at Skidmore. I’m also a member of the ASE’s Education program, so I’m spending lots of time in a Bath primary school classroom! I am so excited to take you all along with me throughout my third week in Bath! My week will be full of classes, teaching, spending time with my new friends, and exploring the city, so follow along for updates! 🤗

Hey hey y’all! I’m Trinity Cureton, a rising junior majoring in English with a minor in Marketing at Hampton University (the real HU 💙🏴‍☠️). I have the pleasure of taking over the page for the first week of the ASE Summer 2026 program.

I’m really excited to be spending my summer in Bath and can’t wait to explore, learn, and experience all that ASE and Bath has to offer.

Whenever the sun is out in the UK, everyone is out enjoying the sunshine. This May bank holiday weekend, the team made sure to make the most out of the glorious weather, visiting England’s stunning coast and countryside, or simply sitting back and relaxing... 😌

Even in June/July, the British weather is a tad unpredictable - but we hope to enjoy more British blue skies with our incoming Summer School students!

Happy Climate Awareness Month 🌍✨
To celebrate, ASE is sharing a climate fiction reading list curated with recommendations from the wonderful team . Kate and Sôffi have put together some incredible picks for the community, including:

The Wall by John Lanchester - a dystopian novel in which a young man serves on a massive coastal barrier protecting Britain from climate-driven floods and “Others,” exploring fear, exclusion, and survival in a fractured world.

Arborescence by Rhett Davis- a surreal novel about a young woman who becomes increasingly obsessed with trees, using that fixation to explore identity, isolation, and the porous boundary between human and natural worlds.

Aerth by Deborah Tomkins- a haunting piece of climate fiction set in a rewilded, post-collapse world, where one woman’s journey through a fragile new landscape blurs the line between survival and belonging

Wild Dark Shore by Charlotte McConaghy- a gripping story set on a remote, fragile island, where rising seas and buried secrets collide, blurring the line between survival, love, and what we owe the natural world
