Thing 4 was a bit random. I mean, I could have mentioned credentials and stuff but meh, those are on the website. Plus this one actually underpins a lot of my interest in ancient wisdom. 📜

Here’s what no one ever tells you about midlife rage:
Feeling it and communicating it are two separate jobs.
Doing them at the same time is why it keeps going wrong.
Feel it first, fully. Walk it out, write the unsent letter, scream in the car etc.
Then communicate the message later, once the wave has moved through you, with a steady voice and one clean boundary.
The rage is for you. The spoken boundary is for them.
Feeling rage is powerful. It moves things and is vital to your wellbeing.
Rage vomited onto other people becomes an argument as the recipient responds in their own emotional state. And the actual boundary you are trying to put up gets lost.
And if you’re wondering why the rage feels so enormous right now, here’s the psychology:
You were trained out of anger young, so it went into storage instead of moving through you.
Midlife is when the storage opens, because the energy it takes to keep suppressing finally runs out.
What’s rising in you is decades of valid data arriving at once, and it deserves better than being swallowed for another thirty years.
Save this for the next time it rises.
Send it to a woman who thinks she’s the only one.
