Thank you to those of you who have already let us know that you will be joining us for our London Drinks & Canapés Reception on Wednesday 29 April at 7pm — we are really looking forward to seeing you there.
For those who are still considering it, there is still plenty of time to sign up. It promises to be a relaxed and enjoyable evening at Café du Marché, Charterhouse Square, with drinks, canapés and the chance to catch up with friends and meet other Old Kingswoodians.

It is with great sadness that we share the news that Marcus Cornah, a much-valued member of the Kingswood community, has passed away. He attended School as a pupil from 1964 to 1971 and went to Prior's Court in 1989 as Deputy Head. He became Headmaster of the Prep School in 2004.

Marcus will be remembered by many Old Kingswoodians for his unwavering devotion to Kingswood, and our thoughts are very much with his family and friends at this difficult time.

His funeral will take place at Centenary Methodist Church, Boston, at 12 noon on Monday 20th April. All who knew him are very welcome to attend.

We will be holding a Memorial Chapel Service for Marcus later this year at Kingswood and we will share details as soon as we can.

Christmas Drinks at the Apex Hotel✨

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for drinks at the Apex Hotel on Saturday 20th December. With over 150 Old Kingswoodians joining us, it was a brilliant evening and so lovely to see so many familiar faces all in one place!

The room was full of laughter and conversation with plenty of catching up with friends and former teachers from Kingswood. It was wonderful to see so many recent leavers come along to their first Old Kingswoodian event!

Thank you to all who joined us, we really appreciate you being part of the Kingswood community and look forward to seeing you at another event soon!

Kick off the festive season at Kingswood’s Charity Christmas Fair next Friday 14 November, 6.30 – 8.45pm at Kingswood Senior School.

Join us to enjoy browsing over 40 stalls from local businesses selling a wide range of quality products - including homewares, beautiful jewellery, women’s clothing, artworks from local artists’ studios, local gin, local cheeses, Christmas stationery and gifts.

There will be a BBQ selling burgers and hot dogs, plus The Friends’ Bar providing mulled wine, hot chocolate and mince pies to tempt you. Younger visitors can enjoy student-led games and stalls throughout the evening.

Following last year's success, we are once again running the Kingswood Christmas Charity Raffle online. You can buy your tickets now. Winners will be drawn at the end of the fair, at 8.30pm. Prizes will be allocated automatically and winners notified by email to arrange collection/delivery - so don't worry if you can't make the fair.

All proceeds from the Fair and Raffle will be donated to our trusted charity partners in Malawi, and are vital in continuing the School’s longstanding partnerships. Each charity has written to thank us sincerely and explain how last year's funds have been used:

MBora, a social enterprise founded by Old Kingswoodian Adrian Raisbeck, was able to buy a motorbike to reach rural farmers as well as solar irrigation pumps for small family farms.

Mary’s Meals has linked us with Nyakamba School in the Nsanje district, where our support funds a daily meal for all 297 pupils for an entire year - for some, their only meal of the day.

Chankhasi School, which Kingswood has supported since its early days in a church hall 20 years ago, has been able to pay teacher salaries and continue building a new dormitory.

Chuma Community, has been able to fund college courses and provide care for young adults leaving orphanages without family support.

Eagles Malawi, with strong links to Bath, has trained local community leaders in disaster mitigation, food diversification, early childcare, nutrition and health - equipping local people to find local solutions.

In supporting this diverse group of charities in one of the world's poorest countries, we help educate our students in models of service and international development. Throughout the year, we also continue to give strong support to many local and national charities.

Calling all 1974/1975 and 1976 leavers. Incredible to think it is 50 years since leaving Kingswood - half a century!
What a great time to come together and celebrate – to meet up with old friends and members of staff from those days.
The reunion will take place at the School on
Saturday 27th September 2025.
What better group to bring together than the mid-1970s occupants of the Dixon block - a golden age!
The School will host us and provide complimentary drinks and lunch from 11.30am.
Many may wish to continue reminiscences in the bars and restaurants of Bath on Saturday evening.
A great opportunity to catch up with old friends and contemporaries and catch a glimpse of the school then and now.
It would be great to see as many people as possible for this major anniversary. Do let us know if you would like to attend in order that we have an idea of interest and numbers.

Successful Golf Day Brings Sport, Sunshine, and Smiles

On Friday, 6th June, participants gathered for a memorable Golf Day, enjoying 18 holes of friendly competition under clear skies and pleasant weather. The well-attended event proved to be a great success, blending the joy of sport with the camaraderie of the golfing community.

Following the game, guests had the option to relax and enjoy a delicious meal together, rounding off the afternoon in good company. Others chose to head off promptly to catch the eagerly anticipated rugby clash between Bath and Bristol — a thrilling end to a sporty day.

Congratulations to the winning team: Mark, Henry, and Ben Brearey with Alex Stewart, who played a fantastic round. Special recognition also goes to Ed Vickery, who won Nearest the Pin, and Andy Shaw, who took home the prize for Longest Drive.

We’re delighted to announce that the next Golf Day is already booked for Friday, 5th June 2026 — be sure to save the date!

A big thank you goes out to everyone who joined us, making it a fantastic occasion for all involved. We look forward to seeing you again next year!
