Perks of the job😉
Risk assessing for an upcoming Wild Swimming Walk is not all fun and games I'll have you know.
Okay, I'm lying, it's literally all fun & games with an incredible opportunity to cool down in this lush bit of my local river😂💙
And I get to do it all over again with lovely people tomorrow🙏
Let me know if you'd like to book a walk & a dip for your own group this summer, it just needs 4 ppl to run.

"Dew-dappled grass blades bent low to river
Kissing the cuckoo, sang softly to river
Oh, river spoke starlight and danced with the cosmos in motion
And the banks of river, where small creatures hum in the sunlight
Messages drift on the wings of the damselfly whisper"

Pausing on this Solstice threshold to reflect & celebrate in a circle of women among the abundance of flowers Vallis Farm under the fullest sunniest of suns☀️
Such joy, laughter, conversation and connection ☀️☀️☀️
Deep gratitude to all who came

Who's feeling the energies this week?
As we head towards our shortest night & longest day this Sunday for Summer Solstice it can all feel like a lot!
"Solstice means ‘sun standing still’. This moment of cosmic stillness creates space for reflection.
Like the pause between an inhale and exhale, the solstice offers a threshold.
It asks us to feel what is changing before movement resumes. It is a moment to align with clarity, not just momentum."
-Rebecca Douglas Rebecca ✨ Photographer & Visual Storyteller
The Wild Swimming Woman Summer Solstice Retreat Day on Friday is an opportunity to pause and reflect, to celebrate our successes, to reconnect with ourselves, each other and the land and waters and abundance of the natural world all around us.
An invitation to step into a gently held space designed to slow the pace of everyday life and invite deeper connection—with yourself, with others, and with the natural world we are part of.
❔What are you planning to do with your Summer Solstice threshold pause❔
Yep-nano* adventures are even smaller & more fun than micro-adventures🤣
In just 90 minutes this morning!!!!!
👙I grabbed my swimsuit & a thermos, drove 15 mins to my favourite river swimming spot
👣squished my toes in the morning dewy grass
🐦soundbathed in birdsong
💧 soothed my my nervous system by watching the raindrops meeting river water & their ripples
👋waved good morning to the moorhen family (bloody hell those chicks from a few weeks ago are teenagers already🤩)
🌳revelled in the morning song the poplar trees sang as I swam past
☀️basked in an early shaft of sunlight
*oops nearly got carried away watching the light glimmer & play across the river and forgot to get out (genuine hazard to watch out for peeps)
🥪ate a breakfast of Queens (emmental & marmite sarnie)
🫖with a mug of tea
💠as damselflies danced their way from river bank to bank.
Pack up, quick detour to post a package to a friend AND STILL back home at my desk ready to start my day job
at 8am💪
*damm, if only I was a grandma I could call them 'nan' adventures 🤣🤣🤣
