..Or “Pumpkin time” as my boys call it! 🎃 I set up a mini Pumpkin picking patch for all of the children, they loved choosing the pumpkins, comparing size and weights “Look Hannah a teeny tiny one”, “this one is too heavy” Rolling them down the hill was super fun and then loading them into the wheelbarrow! As always it’s the simple things ey’ 🎃 🌲

APPLE PRESS 🍎 🍏 We have had such an abundance of apples this year in the Orchard next to our farm! We have made sooooo many apple crumbles, spiced loafs and pies! We thought we’d give making our own apple juice a go! We all worked together to turn the handle to squash down and press the apple juice out! The children began chanting “SQUEEZE! SQUEEZE, SQUEEZE” 😆 The juice was delicious and very sweet! Although we didn’t get that much juice from 2 huge bagfuls of apples! …and my arm muscles were aching all weekend 💪🏼 😅 🍎

It’s weeks like these I adore my job! 🥰🩷
Life for childminders and other childcare providers are really hard and unpredictable at the moment. So times like this I really cherish and try not to take for granted. Watching the children’s faces light up when they have experiences like these puts everything into perspective and reminds me to stick to my opinions when it comes to the governments mad moves. I managed to take all the children on my books to my farm this week to meet the baby lambs, feed the chickens and collect the eggs. 🥚 🐓 🐑 It always brings me so much joy to watch even the most reserved children take joy in being around the animals 🥰

Hey- if the government win this battle and succeed in pushing independent child carers to close..
Maybe I could run a children’s farm? 🐴 🐑 🐓 🐷 🐄
Children AND animals? How hard could that be? lol 😜

🍊 We are all a bit full of a cold this week, so we decided to up our Vitamin C game! 🍊 💪🏼 The children loved squeezing the oranges and collecting the juice and pouring it into their glasses to enjoy with snack! 🍊

Snowy day! ❄️ we had a surprise sprinkling of snow today, so we explored it in the garden, we also crunched ice in the mud kitchen and played with the snow animals in the tough tray 🐻‍❄️ 🐧 🦭 The arctic animals are fantastic for this season! We then snuggled up with blankets and hot chocolates whilst we read snow themed books together 📕 ☕️ 🥰

Firstly a huge thank you to the families and friends that helped us donate 2 HUGE bags of presents to charity ‘operation community hamper’, it really touched my heart to see so many caring people pulling together to help the less fortunate and an important lesson for the children especially at this time of year 🥰🎁

Together we have enjoyed festive playgroup sessions, picking and cutting down our Christmas tree, lots of baking and crafting and delicious roast turkey meals. There has been lots of excited children singing and dancing at our little Xmas party yesterday, we made wreaths together for the children to take home for their families and played lots of games too🎄🎅🏽 Each child took home a little stocking of goodies 🎁
