πŸ‘‚πŸ‘ƒπŸ–πŸ‘

Yesterday our good friends took us on a sensory walk curated by their wellbeing facilitators.

πŸ– we felt the ground beneath our feet and all touched natural textures.

πŸ‘‚we listened to the breeze in the leaves and the birdsong.

πŸ‘ we paused, and look up at the trees and sky

πŸ‘ƒwe smelt all of the wonderful plants around us.

Then we gathered together for some gentle movement and made a natural mandala.

Thanks for a lovely morning

Presenting our short PMLD film, Something's got to change: Listening to the stories of people with PMLD, their families and allies.

Over a 5 month period our researchers and held coffee mornings with the families of people with PMLD. These are the stories they wanted to share.

Something's got to change. Listening to the stories from families and allies of people with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD).

Over five weeks, researchers Becky Churchill and Katie Crouch visited specialist day services for people with PMLD and met parents and managers at coffee mornings.

Stories were captured through audio recordings, reflections, mind maps, and parents' creative responses. We listened to the parents and responded to the themes they felt were important.

We worked with Fable Studios to create a film to share the stories and themes. These might be the first co-produced videos about people with PMLD in the UK.

You can find a link to watch the film on our Linktree, linked in the page bio. Or go to https://bit.ly/SomethingsGotToChange
