Hi all!
✨Just an update for those who are 18+ looking at Disability Student Allowance-DSA✨

I am now trained in assessing characteristics of adhd and DCD in 18+, which can give strategies and also be used for uni DSA/workplace.

This means anyone who has hit 18 at school can have an educational assessment to look at more areas for DSA funding (and not have to wait for medical appt)

Dyslexia 'might' impact you or your child. I say 'might' because no two learners with dyslexia are the same.✨

✨Like a thumbprint, each person is 'unique' and has their own strengths and vulnerabilities.✨

✨But it is by identifying dyslexia through a full dyslexia assessment, that you can truly understand a persons unique profile and then you can begin to support and give them the tools to succeed.✨

✨Wrong! Dyslexia has nothing to
do with intelligence. I have seen so many children who are predicted C/B go to B/A/A* after a Dyslexia Assessment and reaching their potential.✨

✨Why? Because they get the accommodations they need and deserve to get the grades that they deserve.✨

•The correct instruction
• Technology
•Access Arrangements such as 25% extra time which can make all the difference.✨

✨I can tell you, there is nothing more frustrating if you have the ideas, knowledge and connections but can't get it out in an exam due to running out of time etc..✨

✨I have seen lots of children who have extremely high general ability, but extremely low Processing Speed/Working Memory/Short-Term Memory/ Phonological Awareness etc..✨

✨Researchers at the University of Illinois have concluded through vast research, that movement enhances executive functioning, memory and recall, as well as many other benefits such as physical and mental well-being.✨

✨This means we need to get our children up and moving more during the day (including in the classroom!) to reap the benefits!✨
