A short while ago, our were given the challenge of making some hedgehog awareness signs to go up around Baston. After the signs were created by Deeping Men in Sheds, the children got to work painting them. There are 12 altogether and we can't wait to see them popping up around the village. Here are 2 of them being modelled by our year 2 Eco-Warriors.

📕 📚 Book Fair 📚 📕

A big thank you to everyone who visited our Reading Picnic and Book Fair today! It was wonderful to see so many families enjoying the fantastic selection of books.

If you didn’t get a chance to visit, don’t worry! The Book Fair will be open again tomorrow from 3:15pm to 4:00pm. Please enter through the main school entrance.

If you can’t make it in person, you can still support our school by ordering online until 9:00pm on Friday using the link below:

🌲🌳🚜 Greatwood Farm 🚜🌳🌲

Our Year 1 children had an amazing time exploring and learning outdoors at Great Wood Farm Early Years Centre They practised their compass and map-reading skills, enjoyed a tractor ride, created wonderful creatures from clay, and even performed their own imaginative stories. It was a day full of adventure, creativity and smiles!

A huge THANK YOU goes to the incredible volunteers who came along to support us today. We are so lucky at Baston to have such a wonderful community of parents, grandparents and carers who generously give up their time in so many different ways – whether it’s helping on school trips, running our fantastic PTA, or supporting school events throughout the year.

You all make such a difference to our school, and we appreciate every one of you.

The final day of our year 6 residential to It was certainly a busy day to end on with abseiling and more Jacob's ladder! We also got to travel home in style with Sleafordian Coaches treating our year 6s like the rockstars they are! We are so proud of everything our year 6s achieved this week. They put their minds to it and smashed it. All whilst representing the school brilliantly!

Year 6 have had a great first day at . We have been on the giant swing and took a survival course featuring whittling and fire starting. To end the day we also played Cluedo and were visited by Miss White, Reverend Green and Colonel Mustard! Looking forward to day 2!

🥋 Tang Soo Do 🥋

Here is a video from yesterday’s amazing Tang Soo Do demonstration! 🥋✨

Master Tyler from Market Deeping Tang Soo Do spent the day running fantastic sessions with every class, giving all of the children the chance to learn new skills, build confidence and have lots of fun.

The day ended with an exciting demonstration for the whole school, and we were incredibly proud of all the children who take part in Tang Soo Do for bravely getting up in front of everyone to show off their skills and hard work. They were absolutely brilliant! 🌟

A huge thank you to Master Tyler for such an inspiring and energetic day — the children loved every minute!

🏅SPORTS WEEK 🏅

What a fantastic and action-packed Sports Week we’ve had at Baston! 🌟🏅

Our week kicked off on Monday with an amazing opportunity for the children to try wheelchair sports with Inspire+ — a brilliant experience enjoyed by all.

On Tuesday, the children had an exciting day of Acro sessions led by the wonderful Mrs Hunnings from Inspire Dance 🤸✨ Inspire Dance Deeping

Wednesday brought the highlight of the week… SPORTS DAY! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ A huge thank you to all the parents and carers who came along to support and cheer on the children. We hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did!

Thursday was absolutely jam-packed with Tang Soo Do sessions with Master Tyler from Market Deeping Tang Soo Do , skateboards and scooters with This is Rubicon, alongside our usual PE lessons — there was certainly no slowing down! 🛹🥋

Finally, we rounded off the week today with golf sessions with Inspire+ ⛳

We are so proud of all the children for their enthusiasm, teamwork and determination throughout the week. A huge thank you as well to everyone who helped make Sports Week such a success. Our dedicated Baston team have worked so hard to give our children a week of fun and fitness.
