A lovely day in the sun today. We spent the morning at the beach: hunting for fossils, making sandcastles and creating our own rock pools. After lunch, we went pond dipping where we collected different creatures and then studied them to see what we had found. We ended the evening with the S-Factor - which the badgers won - well done badgers! Finally, we went to the hide where we saw some badgers and foxes. Tomorrow, we will play Stubbington Fox before leaving the centre after lunch.

Today saw us opening our mammal hotels. We had three visitors: two bank voles and a long-tailed field mouse named Chunky, Munchie and Tiny. We spent time observing, measuring, weighing and sketching them. This afternoon we did the earthquake challenge. The children loved the obstacles and completing lava leap - although we did have a few wet feet! Tomorrow we are pond dipping and spending the afternoon at the beach.

Another great day full of interesting activities. We have investigated beak adaptations, dissected owl pellets, looked for tracks and signs of wildlife in the conservation area and set up our mammal hotels. Tomorrow, we will be opening our hotels and taking part in the earthquake challenge.
