Members of the Gardening Club have been busy this term!
At TBCS, we are committed to providing our students with every opportunity to learn, develop new skills, and engage with the world around them. We are fortunate to have a wonderful school garden where students can nurture plants while learning about growing flowers, fruit, and vegetables.
Thanks to a generous grant from our catering partners, students have planted potatoes, tomatoes, onions, beans, and a variety of salad crops. These are all thriving and beginning to produce food that students can sample themselves or use in Food Technology lessons. Later in the year, apples from our orchard will be used to make delicious desserts.
The garden is not only a place for growing food; it is also a peaceful environment where students can relax, observe wildlife, and develop a deeper appreciation of nature. Through their dedication and hard work, members of the Gardening Club help maintain and develop this special space.
Meeting twice a week after school, our Gardening Club gives students the opportunity to develop valuable lifelong skills, including teamwork, responsibility, patience, and environmental awareness. We are incredibly proud of their enthusiasm and the positive contribution they make to our school community.
