Movin Monkeez HQ

Movin Monkeez is about moving in a fun, structured way. Educating children from as early as confident walkers through to junior school.

Movin Monkeez compliments the Early Years Foundation Stage offering fitness, co-ordination, structure and above all fun for your little ones. Children will learn the basics of dance, rhythm, movement and fitness in a fun and safe environment. We focus on using props such as scarves, balls, beanbags, instruments and many more. The children explore different movement exercises to fun and stimulating music along with working in groups and pairs. The founder of Movin Monkeez, Becky Lane, has compiled a programme to encourage physical development whilst having fun. Being a mum herself and a full-time dance and fitness instructor she has been able to experiment with many different exercises which she feels benefits the children the most. Movin Monkeez focuses on physical development in most importantly a fun and relaxed environment.

👽 Space continued… 👽

I already have a fabulous SPACE lesson plan but I wanted to create more content to give instructors and teachers more variety. Still using all of the same equipment / props (because why spend extra money if you don’t need to) we managed to fill another fabulous 30 minute class. 🪐

Always set children up for success!

I’ve been focusing on ball skills with KS1 and it’s tricky to hit a ball at such a young age. However, it’s super fun and simple to hit a balloon. Master this, get their attention, go through teaching points and then you can move down in ball size!

Here you see cones but we see Rhino horns! 🦏
Jungle adventures today with my preschoolers.

Today I set up 3 different stations for my preschoolers.
1) Throw a ball into a hoop (different heights and angles)
2) balance beam and jump the blocks
3) Animal feet moving and stepping / jumping over objects.

We then looked at the story of Goldilocks and the 3 bears 🐻🐻🐻 I broke the story down into sections and applied relevant dance and fitness exercises to go with that section. A very fun lesson ✅

This morning we focused on hoop and beanbag skills (in prep for the older ones going to school) and then we had some superhero fun 🦸‍♀️🦸

This half term we are exploring some gross motor skills in prep for some of my preschoolers moving onto infant school in Sept🥹

Their ball handling skills were absolutely incredible, the best I’ve seen from such young children (and in some cases better than my KS1 children) 👏

I also purchased some new foam rockets this week so we had to have a play around with them too 🚀
