Today we enjoyed a wonderful blackberry picking adventure! ππΏ
The children had so much fun exploring nature, searching for juicy blackberries and filling their pot. Along the way, we talked about where fruit comes from, practised counting, developed our fine motor skills, and enjoyed lots of fresh air and exercise.
These hands-on experiences are such a lovely way to encourage curiosity, build confidence, and create happy memories together. We can't wait to see what delicious treats we can make with our blackberries! π

Today we had lots of fun exploring our colourful sensory water tray! π¦π
The children used tongs to pick up colourful lids and ice balls, sorted them into matching coloured bowls and explored weighing them on the scales. They were fascinated watching the ice melt and enjoyed talking about the different colours, sizes and noticed the different weights.
This activity supported so many areas of learning through play, including developing fine motor skills, colour recognition, counting, early maths, problem-solving, language development.
Learning through play is always the best kind of learning! π

Today we say goodbye to this young man as he finishes his journey with us, after 11 years and heads off to secondary school.
Watching him grow from a tiny little one into the kind, confident and amazing young man he is today has been such a privilege. We've shared so many memories, milestones, laughs and adventures ( plus a few headachesππ) along the way.
I'm so proud of everything you've achieved and can't wait to see what the future has in store for you. Wishing you all the luck and happiness as you begin this exciting new chapter. Good luck!

Watching our caterpillars transform into beautiful butterflies gave the children a hands-on opportunity to explore the natural world. Even at 1β2 years old, the children showed curiosity and excitement as they observed the caterpillars growing, forming chrysalises, and finally emerging as butterflies.
This experience encouraged curiosity and awe about nature and living things.
It helps their developing observation skills as children noticed changes over time.
Building early understanding of life cycles and how living things grow and change.
Promoting communication and language through introducing new vocabulary such as caterpillar, chrysalis, butterfly, wings, and transform.
Supporting personal, social and emotional development by encouraging gentle handling, kindness and respect for living creatures.
Enhancing understanding of the world through first-hand experiences with nature.
Developing attention and concentration as children watched and revisited the caterpillars each day.
Creating opportunities for mathematical language, such as talking about size ("bigger", "smaller"), counting caterpillars and butterflies, and discussing time ("today", "tomorrow", "waiting").
The butterfly release also provided a memorable experience, helping children develop a sense of wonder and appreciation for the environment while encouraging conversations about caring for wildlife.
