Hello all, due to Covid, it's been a couple of years since I've run the very successful GCSE English Language workshop for Year 11 students. But I am excited to be restarting this workshop as a 1 hour weekly event, on Thursday evenings, starting November 2022 (venue tbc). It will run right up to the GCSEs in May 2023 and will be on every week (excluding school holidays). It is particularly suitable for students who need some additional help to achieve a grade 4-7 in English Language and works well with a small group of 5-6 students. I already have some interest noted, so places are limited. If you would like more details please EMAIL me at: [email protected]

GCSE 9-1 English Workshops

I am currently running monthly workshops for 6, year 11 students at the St Leonard's Centre on Saturday mornings from 10-12pm. The aim of this class is to build a skills set, where each student will ultimately be able to approach a wide range of fiction texts (Paper 1) and non-fiction texts (Paper 2) and confidently apply the skills specific to the 9-1 specification.
Confidence in reading, writing, and becoming an expert in the requirements of these two challenging new exams, is the key focus.

I believe working in small groups allows students to get the close teacher-student attention, yet still offers the benefits of being with a dynamic group of peers, where each student can get inspiration and ideas from the other members of the group.
Due to the success of this group and the improvements I am seeing, I would like to offer another small group of year 11 students the same opportunity.

There will be 6 sessions (one each month) starting in January and running until their exam in June. The sessions will either be on a Saturday morning or a Thursday evening subject to room availability and interest.

For more details of the content and the price per session, please email me on [email protected]

After the success of last year, I will also be running 2 Intense Revision Workshops in the May half-term to cover Paper 1 and Paper 2 for a group of 10-12 students. Details will be published in a couple of months...
