Level 3 Forest School training! Every course we run is a little different because, just like Forest School, the learners shape the experience. Today we were super lucky to welcome our amazing friend Lucy Jones, author of Losing Eden, as a guest speaker to talk about why the wild is good for our mental health. So lovely to hear her talk about our shared favourite topic and to spend some time in the woods together.

Our next Level 3 Forest School training is now OPEN for bookings.

This course trains you to be a fully qualified Forest School Leader. You will learn about ecosystems, outdoor play, the connection between human and ecosystem wellbeing, planning and risk assessments. But that's just the basics. We are specialists in diversity and inclusion outdoors, so our course is also a deep dive into how we can improve access for all people, how access to nature can increase wellbeing, how neurodivergent people might experience nature and nature connection differently and how you can support them. This course is ideal for teachers and LSA's, early years practitioners, home educators and those looking to spend more time outdoors with learners of all ages.

We have 2 courses planned next academic year - this one and another that starts in February. This one is open for booking, but the dates for the second one can be seen on the booking link . Includes First Aid training in the New Forest, but can be booked without.

Good morning Spring!

Spring is in the air!

Our Wild Woods sessions happen every school holiday, we try to do one at least once a week. This Spring holiday we have 2 sessions - Wednesday 1st April and Friday 10th April.

These sessions take place in our woodland in Cliddesden, just outside Basingstoke (it is walkable from town, I often get the train in). The bluebells are just coming out, the birds are starting to nest and the sun is warming up. Yesterday we even heard to woodpeckers singing (well laughing, they always sound like they are laughing) at each other.

In our Wild Woods session we mostly just hold space for really rich child led play. The space is open and private so you can feel secure letting the children roam, or play closely with them for some reconnection time. We will put out some Spring themed crafts and opportunities for those who enjoy something more focussed, but play is the main event. We have a hot chocolate and biscuit mid morning and in the afternoon the fire goes on - we will have a range of options to cook on the fire from marshmallows to crumpets and hot cross buns.

The session is suitable for all - so far on both sessions the youngest is 6 months and the oldest is 13.

Lovely wet and muddy day in the woods today for our half term session! It was really lovely to catch up with our families that have grown up alongside us. Our next wild woods sessions are in the Easter holiday. We also have sessions on Monday mornings term time!
