As part of their Cranbourne Aspire Diploma, Year 9 students have been delivering sessions to primary students in our local cluster schools.

On Wednesday 1 July, one group went to Castle Hill Infants School to run the Fitness Café, where they taught the younger children about healthy lifestyles.

They discussed nutrition, how to eat healthily and about ways to exercise. Our students then led the primary children through an exciting obstacle course, encouraging them to get involved and get their blood pumping.

CAD combines classroom based activities and outdoor activities designed to push students out of their comfort zone, take initiative and develop leadership.

We’re so proud of how confidently our students delivered these sessions throughout the year and behaved as fabulous ambassadors for our school.

We are delighted to have been awarded the Silver Green Trees Award from the The Woodland Trust in recognition of our efforts to make Cranbourne greener.

To celebrate, Green Cranbourne club held a tree party before we broke up for the summer, where they decorated shortbread biscuits in the shape of leaves, decorated trees with ribbon and created tree related artwork.

We can’t wait to continue working towards our Gold Award next year!

On Tuesday 14 July we welcomed British band DearALICE to Cranbourne. Year 8 and 9 had the opportunity to attend a session with them, where they performed some of their songs, held a Q&A session and discussed social media and the effect it can have on mental health.

Our students had a fantastic time, and really enjoyed listening to the boys speak about their own experiences and how they handle the pressures of having a social media following.

We’ve had some fantastic feedback sharing what a positive impact the session had on our students and how it has encouraged them to speak up about issues affecting them.

A big thank you to the band for spending the morning with us and inspiring our students!
