Would you like to join the Maples Day Nursery team?

We are looking for our very own ‘Mrs Hinch’ (or Mr) to help us keep our beautiful nursery clean and inviting for all our children.

The role will be for 1.5 hour per day Mon-Thurs 6pm to 7.30pm and then 3 hours on a Friday for a deeper clean 6-9pm (9 hours per week)

Reference and DBS check will be required.

The Maples Day Nursery's fundraiser for BBC Children in Need Help The Maples Day Nursery raise money to support BBC Children in Need

This week we have been busy exploring our outdoor environment. We took a short walk to the local park and green space. Our first stop was the park - we enjoyed climbing, swinging and jumping around the apparatus. 🛝

We then went over to the outdoor gym equipment and used our leg muscles to jump across the logs and cycle on the exercise bike! Even though we couldn’t quite reach the pedals! 😁 We also used our balancing skills and carefully placed our feet one by one so we didn’t fall off the balance beam. 💪

Our final stop was to the forest. We searched through the gorgeous leaves and collected some for our Autumn bags. We looked in awe and wonder at all of the different sizes and shapes and one child said “wow, this is beautiful” as we walked along the forest path. 🍁

Today, the children enjoyed an Indian tasting platter for snack, created their own Henna design, made Rangoli patterns with coloured powder and read the story of Diwali, the festival of light.

We will continue to celebrate this week, by making Diya lamps, baking sweet treats and exploring colour!

What a wonderful week we have had at Maples!
The children have had lots of opportunities to take part in autumnal & Halloween inspired invitations to play, along with sensory, messy activities & construction!

🚧 The children were able to create a range of constructions using their imaginative skills, team work and learning about protective clothing they have to wear!

🎃 Extending their interest in the book “pumpkin soup” the children were able to make their own “pumpkin soup” creations with real pumpkins, cinnamon & a range of utensils.

🫧 Bubble Painting to create a large scale piece, using their fine motor skills and turn taking with their peers.

Autumnal Science experiment

Today, the children had the opportunity to develop their fine motor skills, using pipettes and coloured water to change the colour of the “toadstools”
