It is with regret we have taken the decision to close the Nursery today following the red weather warning and guidance issued by Hampshire County Council. The safety of everyone is always our highest priority.

Today is the festival of Eid, when Muslims celebrate the end of a period of fasting and prayer. The sighting of the crescent moon signifies the end of the month long fasting ( Ramadam) and the start of the celebration of Eid-al-Fitr.
Why not join in the celebration with these feast ideas? Banana stars and apple moon on peanut buttered biscuit, star and moon Rice Krispies shapes, star and moon shaped sandwiches, cupcakes topped with a star and star shaped pizzas.
You could also make some binoculars from cardboard tubes and see if you can see the moon tonight?

It's World Book Day!
Why not try these activities around The Very Hungry Caterpillar? Or adapt to suit your child's favourite book.
-Have fun using your body to creep like a caterpillar, snuggle in a cocoon and then flutter like a butterfly.
- Encourage some imagining. If you could change into any kind of animal, what would you like to be? How would you move? What would you eat?
-Explore the food in the book and taste test some of the food: what tastes best? Or play a guessing game, wearing a blindfold and smelling and tasting the food and trying to guess what they all are without peeping.
-Have some fun with printing, using cut apples, pears and oranges to dip in paint and create some designs.
-Go on a leaf hunt. How many different leaf shapes can you find?
- Make a model caterpillar, paint a butterfly
- Eat a caterpillar! Prepare a caterpillar lunch, using cucumber and tomato slices to create the body.
