Incorporating dancer’s interests into classes.

Sensory Movement classes are inspired by the Madagascar films at the moment, after a request from a dancer.

The beauty of sensory movement is that it can be used to engage with lots of different themes.

It’s wonderful seeing children light up when their favourite song comes on!

Creating our own dance community.

It was so good to return to classes and catch up with dancers last week!

Dancers cooperated, shared ideas and got creative composing ‘sticky’ duets/trios.

Lots of Easter themed fun at our workshop last week!

🐣 Our egg and spoon obstacle race brought out everyone’s competitive side.

🎨 Dancers got creative painting eggs.

As always dancers learnt two dance routines, this time inspired by Lilo and Stitch.

Looking forward to our next one on Wednesday 29th July.

Our adult Sensory Dancers used movement inspired by the Winter Olympics and Paralympics recently.

Ice hockey, ice dancing and kurling were particularly popular!

The great thing about Sensory Dance is that dancers with a wide variety of needs can access classes.

Whether dancers can follow instructions to learn simple dance routines or prefer to experience the sensory element of props, they all have a wonderful time in our Sensory Dance class.

⭐️Spaces available for adults with learning disabilities / neurodivergent adults aged 25 years +

More Pancake themed fun!

Last week Basingstoke dancers explored ‘mix and toss’.

Some beautiful ways of making circles and varied throws and catches.
