What a great way to kick of March, the sun has been shining. This week we have been reading dear zoo and pretending to be vets. We have also started to brush our teeth at nursery and made up a brushing teeth song that we like to sing whilst brushing. Lots of exploring with paint, play dough, water and flour.

On Wednesday and Thursday we celebrated Chinese New Year. We tried noodles, prawn Crackers and sweet and sour sauce. We made the role play area into a Chinese restaurant where the children took orders and fed their friends. Monday and Tuesday was all about love. We made love bugs and love potions matched the colourful shapes in the chocolate heart box. The phonics lady came in and we had so much fun. The role play area was turnt into a florist where the children counted pennies and made their own plant pots. The children made valentine cards and love hearts

What a fantastic week we have had at Rainbows. Our topic of the week was We're going on a bear hunt. We explored the wavy grass,, cold river, oozy mud, dark forest, swirling snowstorm. The children absolutely loved it. And by the end of the week they were able to recite the story on their own with little prompt

Last weeks fun, we celebrated Australian Day. Sally brought in a kangaroo cut out that we practised our throwing skills, and instead of the kitchen area we made a back garden with a bbq, Charlotte also taught us a new song called down in the jungle. On Tuesday we learnt about the letter S, so we done some sticking and made snake pictures and played with the playdough and tried to make S's using the playdough. Then Wednesday it was puzzle day so we made our own puzzles and played with puzzles
