BBC CBeebies parenting resources to support pre-school children

BBC CBeebies have released a Parenting resource and content pack for parents and caregivers to support pre-school children as they prepare to start their adventure in early years settings or school.

Check out the ‘skills for starting school’ collection on the CBeebies Parenting website for free, expert advice and activity ideas to grow children’s independence and support their development. Find help with everything from introducing the potty and toilet independence, taking turns and sharing, to helping with shyness around starting school and managing separation anxiety.

You can also enjoy a selection of songs, stories, games and advice from CBeebies on BBC iPlayer.

From mid-August, there will be a special CBeebies Parenting Download episode exploring how confidence, communication, emotional reassurance and growing independence can all help children settle into a new environment.

Toilet Training Talks campaign launch

As part of the wider Best Start in Life campaign, has released the Toilet Training Talks campaign. It was launched on Monday 10 August 2026 to support parents with children starting school this September. The campaign recognises that toilet training can be one of the biggest challenges for families, and provides reassurance, support and practical advice for parents to help their children build confidence and independence before their first day.

The campaign will direct you to the new NHS Best Start in Life 'Potty Training' webpage, with practical advice covering everything from recognising when a child needs the toilet to managing clothing, wiping, flushing and washing hands.

At its heart is a short film, ‘Toilet Training Talks’, featuring Reception teacher Georgia Lucas and TV doctor Dr Emily MacDonagh. Filmed in a primary school toilet, the light-hearted film shares expert advice and reassures parents that progress takes patience and every child develops at their own pace.

Hope this helps anyone who may be finding toilet training their little one a bit of a challenge.

Well that's a wrap for this year! Thank you for trusting us to look after, care for an nurture your little people, it has been a pleasure. I hope those that are leaving us have a fantastic time on their next venture, and we look forward to seeing those staying and new starters in September! Have a lovely holiday all x

Some of the fun our little people have been having over the past few weeks. From Maths and literacy to arts, crafts and messy play and more! Hope the children have all enjoyed their fun with us this year!

Dont for fet tomorrow ( 17/07/2026) is our stay and play session! Everyone is welcome, wether you are already with us or are looking for a preschool for your little ones. Why not pop in for a chat.

It would be fantastic to get as many parents as possible to come in on this day so that any prospective parents can get your views on us! First hand experience is always better then what is read on line. Thank you if you can in advance.
