☀️ Keeping cool and protected in the summer sun. 🌿💦

At Munchkins, children’s safety and comfort always come first during warmer weather. All of our settings are fully air conditioned, helping both the children and our team stay cool and comfortable throughout the day.

We carefully monitor UV levels and avoid outdoor play during the hottest parts of the day, giving children time to cool off indoors when needed. When outside, children are protected with high SPF sun cream, suitable clothing and sun hats, along with plenty of shaded areas across our gardens.

And of course, sunny days mean extra water play fun to help everyone stay cool. ☀️

Our younger Munchkins love exploring the mud kitchen in the garden. 🌿🍊

We are always introducing new textures and resources to enhance their play experiences, and this time we added real fruit for the children to explore and investigate. The children loved using the different ingredients in their imaginative play, creating potions, recipes, and sensory experiences together.

Some of our team attended the Essex Early Years Conference 2026 this weekend! 🌟

They came away feeling inspired, full of new ideas, and excited to bring fresh approaches into practice across our settings. Continuous learning and development are so important to us, and it’s always fantastic to see our team so passionate about providing the very best experiences for children. 💡📚

We’re looking forward to putting some of these new ideas into action! 😊

The children had lots of fun exploring a water potion tray, mixing, pouring, and creating their own colourful concoctions through sensory play. 🧪💦🌿
Using different tools and natural resources, they experimented with textures, movement, and imaginative play while developing fine motor skills, curiosity, and communication with their friends.

Splish, splash, and explore in Laindon! 💦🌈
The children had lots of fun engaging in water play, using cups, containers, and different tools to pour, scoop, and investigate how water moves. Through hands-on exploration, they developed their fine motor skills, curiosity, and early problem-solving while enjoying a calming sensory experience. There were plenty of giggles, teamwork, and exciting discoveries along the way!
