All year round fun and adventure at the Caterpillar Clubhouse. Indoors and outdoors whatever the weather.

We accept 15 & 30 hour funding, Tax free childcare and payments for students from the CGPS scheme and we have current vacancies 🤗

Our consumable fees equate to only £1 per funded hour which is great value for money for the high quality education and care the children receive, not to mention all the yummy snacks and nutritious meals this also includes 🍌🍊🍓🍍🥒🌽🥕

We support but stand back and encourage independence, risk taking and evaluate outcomes together. We play In the dirt and get lots of fresh air!

And this is why we are always cautious when out walking with our children and we only let them pet a select few well known dogs. We are regularly told by dog walkers ‘he’s fine’ but as I always tell them, it’s the children who are unpredictable and they are small and in the dogs space.

It’s not fine for us to take the risk of this happening with other people’s children but so many people take offence to it 🤷🏻‍♀️🤔

One little walk yesterday included so much new learning. One child, still highly motivated by a ‘literacy in our environment’ walk we went on earlier in the week pointed out all the ‘Danger’ ⚡️signs he saw. He had informed me ‘Danger is because there is electric and wites inside!’

We found an empty lamppost with no danger sign so we had a peek inside. Confirmed…no wires & no danger! We found huge mushrooms and used google to identify them, discussed the risks and more danger. We observed the new kerb in the place there was always a hole so we could never cross there safely. That lead us into spotting more kerbs along our route.

We saw a cool beetle who flicked his tail up when he saw us so we watched him for a while 🪲

We saw a dried up pond and discussed the season, weather & wildlife.

Someone asked if I knew what squirrels eat? ‘Nuts!’ He informed me, which lead to a chat about acorns-oak trees-leaf identification and then huge pride when he went off in search and came back with the correct leaf 🤗👏🏻
