Castledyke Day Nursery We are a private day nursery situated within Barton Children Centre, we have good links with schools It is privately managed and serves the local area.

Castledyke Day Nursery was registered with Ofsted in 2006 and is on the Early Years Register and the compulsory and voluntary parts of the Childcare Register.The provision is situated in purpose built accommodation within the Children's Centre in the grounds of Castledyke Primary School in Barton, North Lincolnshire. It operates from a ground floor room and there is an enclosed area available for

outdoor play. The nursery also has use the community room and associated areas. The nursery opens Monday to Friday all year round, except for bank holidays. Sessions are from 7.30am until 6pm. Children attend for a variety of sessions. The nursery provides funded early education for two-, three- and four-year-old children. It supports children who speak English as an additional language and children with special educational needs and/or disabilities.

Our children had a fantastic time over at ‘big school’. We have fantastic links with school and like to visit whenever we can for stay and play sessions.

The children have all settled in well and are making new friends. In the toddler room the children have been doing activities linked to their faces and bodies, and have enjoyed the story ‘We’re going on a bear hunt!’
They have the opportunity to go outside every day whatever the weather (with the exception of lightening). When the weather is wet we check to see that the children have spare dry clothes to change into afterwards. Unfortunately as we have a dwindling supply of spare nursery clothes if your child does not have spare clothes of their own they would not be able to go outside. Please include socks in the outfit as these are often forgotten.

Our term-time only children have settled back in perfectly, and we have welcomed in lots of new children. We also welcome a new staff member - Pru, who will be based in the preschool room.
As we are seeing lots of new children in our rooms, it can be quite difficult to keep on top of whose belongs are whose. Please label coats, hoodies etc with your child’s name, we often have lots of similar looking items of clothing.

The babies this week have been enjoying lots of different nursery rhymes, joining in singing and doing the actions.
The toddlers have been enjoying the story of the three little pigs. They spent time trying to build the strongest house using different kinds of construction kits.
The preschool children have had lots of interest in the seaside, sending in photos of family visits to the beach, so in nursery they tried to recreate that! They made fish and chips out of cardboard and paper, practicing their scissor skills. They had an ice cream shop and used playdough to make the ice cream. They also had a walk to Tesco to buy things for the ice cream shop.
