This week we are recognising Neurodiversity Celebration Week, a global initiative that aims to challenge stereotypes and raise awareness of neurological differences such as dyslexia, ADHD, autism and more. 🌟

At Headway, we believe that every student learns and experiences the world in their own way. By celebrating neurodiversity, we help create a supportive and inclusive environment where all learners feel valued, understood and able to reach their full potential. ☺🌈

Join us for an interactive workshop designed to help parents support their children in building confidence and positive self-esteem.

✨Weekly Round-Up ✨

🎨✨ This week, students learned some exciting new skills! In art therapy, they created wooden ornaments using pyrography🔥🪵.

✋🧠 The addition of model hands has sparked curiosity, with students exploring potential career paths, I think we have some potential beauticians within the centre!

💬💛 In PSHE, we’ve been exploring positive and negative relationship behaviours, with students showing real maturity and thoughtfulness during discussions around healthy relationships 🤝🌱.

📚💪 Another week of successful interventions and plenty of hard work across all academic subjects, looking positive as we head into the final week before the half term! 🌟🎉

✨Weekly Round-Up✨

This week, With Me In Mind joined us to deliver an Exam Stress workshop for our Year 10 and 11 students. We were really pleased with how positively the students engaged, especially as we move closer to exam season, these skills are so important at this time of year. 😊📝

In Science year 8 students put their knowledge of atoms, elements and compounds to the test with a fun escape room challenge. 🧪🧫

In cooking intervention, students learnt how to prepare and cook halloumi, creating delicious halloumi wraps which went down an absolute treat!🌯

✨Weekly Round-Up ✨

Since returning to school, the children have settled back into their routines brilliantly. They’ve shown great engagement across all subjects and interventions, approaching each day with enthusiasm and focus. 📚

This week, students took part in an important and informative talk on child exploitation, helping to build awareness and understanding. In cooking, they enjoyed making their own delicious BLTs, developing both practical skills and confidence in the kitchen. 🥪

We’re incredibly proud of their positive attitude and look forward to a successful and productive rest of the term. ❄️🐎

✨Weekly Round-Up ✨

This week, the students have been busy creating festive Christmas crafts 🎨🎅. They also explored the world of AI 🤖, designing their own AI-generated images to inspire and influence their short stories ✍️.

The Boys at Llama Drama passed their Llama Driving Test 🦙 It’s been a week full of engaging interventions: we headed out to the field to practise casting 🎣, welcomed Noise Academy 🎧, and took part in boxing sessions 🥊, giving students opportunities to learn and develop new skills. In cooking this week, we baked cookies 👨‍🍳.

A wonderfully positive and productive penultimate week before the Christmas break! 🎄⭐🎁

Christmas is around the corner and we’ve been getting into the festive spirit! 🎄

This week in cooking intervention, we made stuffing-filled pigs in blankets 🥓 we have decorated the centre with Christmassy window drawings, pictures, and of course… put up the tree! 🎨🌟

Our students have been working incredibly hard across all their subjects, especially Year 10/11 who completed English mock exams this week. ✍️📚
