Well done to all of our students collecting GCSE results today!

For anyone considering applying to our joint sixth form here is the information we sent out at the end of year. 11. Registration is at Pencoedtre High School on the 27th August. See below for further information.

Your acceptance into Barry Sixth Form is dependent upon:

• gaining 5 or more suitable GCSE (including equivalent BTEC/vocational qualifications) grades at C or above
• gaining suitable grades within the core of English and Mathematics – those applicants with grades below C for either will follow a resit programme for either/both subjects
• completing pre-requisite courses successfully where applicable (e.g. Science, Maths, Psychology, Sociology)
• a successful interview and registration process

To complete your application, you must attend for interview and registration on Thursday 27th August at Pencoedtre High School. We would ask that you attend at the following times:

Surnames A – G ​ 9.30am - 10.30am
Surnames H – O​ 10.30am - 11.30 am
Surnames P – Z​ 11.30am - 12.30pm


Advice, support and guidance will be provided on this day. Any students unable to attend on this day can register on:

Well done to all of our amazing A level and AS level pupils that received their results today, we are so proud of them all. Here are just a couple of outstanding results: PB who achieved A*A*A*A*A and will be studying English Language and Literature at University of Oxford and OW who will be studying Modern Languages and Linguistics at Warwick University having achieved an astonishing A*A*A*AAA! Da iawn!

Just a reminder that A Level results (year 13) can be collected from 9 AM on Thursday 13th and AS level results (year 12) from 10 AM. There will be teachers on site ready to help out with any questions.

What an amazing concert we had to say goodbye to our Sixth Formers and to celebrate our talent coming through. The bands were brilliant, choir outstanding and solos absolutely superb.
