Children can match the pattern you've drawn out using coloured lolly sticks laid out on paper cups (that serve as the black "dots"). 🧩

Brilliant for early maths skills, pattern recognition, and logical thinking. Deceptively simple yet brilliant 🧠

Markers + water + a paper plate quarter = a satisfying rainbow project 🌈☁️

Cut a paper plate into quarters, colour in with markers, then add a few drops of water or rubbing alcohol. Watch the colours bleed and blend, and finish off with some cheeky little clouds!

Brilliant for exploring colour mixing, cause and effect, and early science concepts, whilst having a great time. 🎨

Fingerprint art got a serious upgrade!

Dip little fingers, press them on paper into a handprint shape. Then snip and glue on paper details to bring your character to life! πŸ΄β€β˜ οΈβœ¨

Fab for dexterity, fine motor skills, storytelling, creative expression, and imaginative thinking πŸ–οΈ

Paint a cloud, punch the holes, thread the yarn, add the buttons and beads. Such a satisfying make, and brilliant for little fingers practising threading and concentration. 🌧️

Plus it looks quite lovely hung up!

Punched holes for ladybird spots how clever is that? 🐞

Layered over drawn details with collaged elements, this is a wonderful activity for developing cutting skills, spatial awareness, and creative composition. 🌿

A simple setup with quite a big payoff. Scissors, paper, coloured tape β€” that's all it takes!

Cut out shapes, lay the outlines on the floor with tape, and let little ones match them up. Swap the colours around for a trickier challenge that focuses purely on shape recognition. Dead simple to set up and brilliant for early geometry and logic skills. πŸ”· 🟑 🧩

A homemade blind box with a learning twist! 🐜

Toy insects tucked into a cupcake tin (can be an ice tray or what have you), each sealed off with a piece of tape. Have your child lift a piece to reveal the surprise hiding underneath. Just like those popular blind box toys, but with an educational spin.

For building curiosity, fine motor strength through peeling, and a fantastic opportunity to talk about different insects, their names, habitats, and characteristics πŸžπŸ”

Who needs a shop-bought puzzle? A hand drawn whale, cut into vertical strips, mixed up for reassembly.

A simple activity that packs a real developmental punch. Sequencing, spatial awareness, logical thinking, and patience all come into play as little ones work out which strip goes where.

Draw a completely different picture each time for a brand new challenge! πŸ‹βœ‚οΈ

Snip the ends of loo roll or kitchen roll cores into strips, fan them out, dip into mixed paints and press β€” instant fireworks! πŸŽ†βœ¨

A fantastic introduction to printmaking and colour mixing, with brilliant benefits for fine motor skills, creativity, and experimental thinking.
