We are offering free hepatitis A vaccinations for children aged 1-5 years who either live in Barry or attend a childcare or education setting in the town.

This vaccination programme is taking place following a number of hepatitis A cases identified in Barry and is designed to help protect children and reduce further spread of the virus in the community.

Your child is eligible if they:
✅ Live in Barry, or
✅ Attend a school, nursery, childminder, playgroup or other childcare setting in Barry

Children only need to meet one of these criteria to be eligible.

📢 FREE Workshops for Parent Carers

Our new programme of FREE online workshops for parent carers of neurodivergent children and young people is now open for applications!

Running from September 2026 to March 2027, these workshops offer practical advice, understanding and strategies to help you support your child with confidence.

Funded by Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board's Neurodevelopmental Services, all workshops are free to attend, but places are limited.

From September 2026, pupils in Years 7 and 8 living in households receiving Universal Credit will be able to apply for the Welsh Government's expanded Free School Meals scheme, following the removal of the income threshold 🍴

This is the first phase of a wider rollout to other secondary school year groups 🏫
