I offer a range of services to suit your childcare needs. Hello, my name is Zoe and welcome to my page! Please let me introduce myself.. I am a new Care Inspectorate of Wales (CIW) registered childminder in Barry, South Wales. I have been a registered general Nurse for 10 years and have worked in both the private sector and NHS, I currently hold the role of Deputy Sister within an NHS com

munity nursing service. I have a very proud sense of achievement for the career I have built and have loved every minute, but I feel ready for a new chapter, something I hold passion for but also fits around my family life. Prior to starting my nursing career, I gained experience working in different childcare settings. I also rely on life experiences, I have two beautiful daughters, one who attends the local Welsh Medium Primary School, and the second who is of preschool age. I feel this will be a positive opportunity for them to thrive by socially interacting and exploring with their peers. Myself and my partner both have active enhanced DBS certificates, I have full public liability insurance. I am trained in paediatric first aid and Safeguarding Children level 2, I also have a certificate in food hygiene, I am always open to bettering myself and look forward to future opportunities to improve my education and training in childcare to enhance my service and provide the best care and experiences to children possible. I offer a home from home childcare service which is provided within my home. I feel my home is warm and welcoming and I would want any child and their family to feel comfortable here. I live within walking distances of local parks, local library, shops, playgroups and best of all I am only a short walk from Barry Island beach. As my family always say, the beach is our happy place, we enjoy long walks in the fresh sea air, feeling the sand under our feet and dipping our toes into the sea. We love nothing more than returning home to snuggle up on our cushions and enjoy a hot chocolate, we love it so much I wanted to somehow incorporate this into my business, and this is how ‘Seaside Explorers’ was created! This warm fussy feeling is how I want any child to feel when under my care. Children can expect many outings, playful experiences indoors and outdoors, sensory play, music, and various arts & crafts. I prefer a child led approach so there are toys and activities for every age and preference. I am here to encourage every learning opportunity; I want your child to be able to flourish and feel proud of every achievement no matter how small. I offer a wide range of services, such as school drop offs and pick-ups, full & half day care, wrap around care to the local schools and nurseries. Due to my eldest daughter attending the local Welsh medium primary school, this will be the only school I can offer the drop off/ pick up service to as I unfortunately cannot be two places at one time. 🧡🎄what a lovely get together celebrating Christmas with my fellow childminders. What a pleasure to see all the children playing together! There were so many activities for the children to enjoy such as arts and crafts, wreath making, colouring, necklace making, stories, puddle jumping and lastly a bauble hunt on a natures trail 🎄

🧡A magical day spent exploring our beautiful local National Trust 🪾🌳 Being the weather warriors that we are we headed out despite the gloomy wet weather and explored beautiful walled gardens, forest and streams. My Explorers loved hunting for pumpkins and we took the time to look at their shapes, colours, size and texture.
We slowed down to admire and appreciate the changing colour of the leaves falling from the trees and listened to the birds singing, we can truly feel the season changing🧡

🌺Lest We Forget🌺
It was so lovely meeting up with other local childminders this morning to spend time together to appreciate upcoming Remembrance Day 2025. As a military wife whose husband has served in the Army for the past 21 years and still continues to serve. I am in awe of him and other service men/ women and their families, of just how much is sacrificed for King and country.
There was lots of arts and crafts going on this morning thanks to Poppins Daycare - Hygge & SchemaPlay Accredited Childminder. My littlest Explorers were a bit young for poppy making this year but thoroughly enjoyed watching the other children, playing with glitter and spending time out in the fresh air. It was so lovely to spend time with other local childminders and their little ones today☺️🫶🏻

🧡A lovely walk in the fresh air to school as we do each day practicing our road safety and keeping ourselves safe with our favourite game red light green light, when ‘A’ suggests changing the game to rainbow 🌈 light! Using different colours to change the direction of the game and making it way more fun! Good job Explorers 🧡

🧡Our newest littlest Explorers have been getting used to our setting and exploring the loose parts and curious treasure baskets. We have had lots of playtime in the garden and took a trip to our local garden centre today to see the fish! So many sensory experiences. Little L enjoyed feeling the running water down her hands, we also spoke about how it felt cold!🧡

🧡Today I say goodbye to my partner in crime, it is our Sarah’s last day before she moves on to her new position. It has been the best two years working with you 🫶🏻, I wouldn’t be where I am today without you.. you are so loved and appreciated by all the children and I. You’ve given us so much laughter, kindness and your never afraid to get stuck in and help! P.S. I will still be calling you for spider catching duties mind..🕷️🕸️😆. I could never have done it without my partner in crime Sarah Curtis 💕 thank you to Sarah and all my wonderful families who use my service.
