Happy Pride Month 🎉 🏳️‍🌈 🏳️‍⚧️

As allies to the LGBTQ+ community all year round, Bound have supported multiple organisations with our LET'S TALK Gender, Sexual Orientation & Pronouns workshop. The accredited workshop provides a safe space for employees to ask questions whilst learning, and ensuring the LGBTQ+ community feel seen and heard.

This Pride month we're offering our workshop to organisations for the discounted price of £395+VAT when booked before 30th June 2023.

Pre-Employment: School Edition 🏫

Bound worked In partnership with Cyngor Sir Gâr - Carmarthenshire County Council, Carmarthenshire Communities For Work+ to take its interactive employment skills workshop into schools in Carmarthenshire, empowering Gen-Z.

Over 450 students achieved their CPD accreditation across the schools, giving them the skills they need to secure future employment.

Last November, our in-house facilitator Jack, joined Douglas Scott Legal Recruitment in Manchester for a podcast about Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in the workplace.

Jack spoke about the importance of DE&I and how we can all make our workplace more inclusive and accepting. We're glad to be visiting again today, but this time to discuss gender, sexual orientation and pronouns.

Last week we invited individuals and organisations to join us, Bridgend's Local Nature Partnership and Bridgend County Council to inform the development of an updated Nature Recovery Action Plan (NRAP) in the Bridgend Area.

We hosted workshops in Heol Y Cyw, Porthcawl and Tondu for all nature experts, environmental enthusiasts and any individuals to have their say on the Nature Recovery Action Plan. The responses we received from these workshops have been incredible, and we wanted to thank the many participants who joined us to have their say on the plan.

If you couldn't make last weeks workshops, it isn't too late to have your say!

After the amazing artwork created with the highly talented Nathan Wyburn Art there could be no better way to conclude The Nest @ Heol y Cyw pilot than this. As we drew to a close, we commissioned Nathan to create a piece of artwork bringing the community's history into digital form ⬇️

Joining the past with the present and leaving a piece of our history within the community for everyone to see.

Bound in 2022 🎆

Leaves are falling, autumn is calling. Autumn 2022 saw the opening of Bound's first digital community hub called 'The Nest', and the release of The Foundations Project - providing resources and guidance for young people living independently.

Having digital skills isn't a luxury, as much as it's a necessity in today's world. Bound worked in partnership with Bridgend Reach Bridgend County Borough Council and to provide digital skills workshops, supporting wellbeing, creativity and employability. We are proud that over 100 participants boosted their digital skills and confidence at The Nest.

Developing digital and interactive learning content to boost confidence, employability and life skills is what Bound is all about. That is why we were excited to release The Foundations Project. Living on your own involves being resourceful, making decisions and understanding finances. The Foundations Project explores everything they don't teach you in school; from the highs of decorating your own space, to the lows of dealing with conflict from bad neighbours. Working with partners ACT Training and Cyngor Sir Gâr - Carmarthenshire County Council we've delivered The Foundations Project in Cardiff, Caerphilly, Barry and Llanelli. We can't wait to see where we go next year.

Bound in 2022 🎆

It was goodbye Spring and hello Summer!☀️ With the sunshine came some new workshop releases including our now CPD accredited LET'S TALK Gender, Sexual Orientation & Pronouns, and skill sharing workshop Coding 101.

The Gender, Sexual Orientation & Pronouns workshop creates a safe environment for anybody to come and ask questions about all things LGBTQ+, supporting inclusivity in the workplace. After a successful pilot, our facilitator Jack was interviewed by the team at Douglas Scott Legal Recruitment about the importance of diversity & inclusion during recruitment. We've had so much fun delivering this workshop, the most recent being delivered to the young carers at YMCA Cardiff!

Working in the modern world also involves digital skills, which is why Bound developed the Nailed It! Coding 101 workshop, which debunks what coding is and how we can all have the confidence to give it a go. We've had some great responses to this course and cannot wait to deliver this workshop more in the new year!

Bound in 2022 🎆

In the first blooms of spring, Bound *ahem* grew our partnership working with the launch of the WCVA and ESF funded project, Project Blodau and working with CPD to accredit our Let's Talk All Things Confidence workshop.

Project Blodau was a six-week bespoke employability programme empowering women into employment, in partnership with WCVA & The European Social Fund. We had many participants on Project Blodau, one of which was Suzanne. During her time with Support Sister Lynsey, she had built up her confidence and at the end of the project went into employment. Additionally our Let's Talk All Things Confidence course in partnership with Vocal Nova Academy gained its CPD accreditation status and has been a massive hit with our learners! 86.2% of participants left the workshop feeling highly confident 😎.
