We had a fantastic Hastonbury 2026 in the sunshine this morning. Pupils, parents and staff enjoyed live music, artwork, ice creams and more importantly had lots of fun together.

Thank you to our acts today, GHS brass band, George on his ukulel, Chance to Dance, Dane Ghyll Community School & Nursery BSL choir and all of our fabulous singers who shared the stage. Thanks also to Furness Academy for the loan of the staging for the day.

Pupils in Seal class enjoyed a fun morning at the park, sharing a picnic, playing with bubbles, balls and of course everything the park has to offer. The sun came out too!

For our final RE day of the year, we looked at non-religious beliefs. We focused on Environmentalism and our GHS Values. It was lovely to see our pupils working collaboratively across the whole school!

Hastwell Beats shine at DG Fest!

Our post-16 drumming group enjoyed taking their skills on tour last Friday and performing at the annual DG Fest at Dane Ghyll Community School & Nursery. The group, made up of pupils from Orca, Coral and Pebble classes, gave a fantastic performance to a 600 strong crowd before staying to enjoy some of the bands and an ice cream.

Well done everyone on another great performance, and thanks for having us - we look forward to welcoming their BSL choir to Hastonbury in a couple of weeks!

On Thursday, our GHS football team participated in an Eden Academy football tournament.
It was a wonderful event, held at No Limits Carlisle and our footballers were treated to walking out of the tunnel, live music during matches and a medal for participation at the end of the day.
We are already excited for next years event and plan to design our own GHS football kit.

This half term we enjoyed another excellent Chance to Dance show 🪩 Our shimmy group really know how to bring the party 🕺💃

Last week was Mental Health Awareness week. On Thursday our staff participated in "Wear It Green Day" 💚

Summer term saw the return of horse riding last week - as you can see from the smiling everyone is very happy about that 🐎🐴

Last week was wonderful Matilda! What a magical week it was putting on our first whole school production…. our pupils were fabulous and thoroughly enjoyed both performances to appreciative audiences.

Thanks to everyone involved - the main characters, post-16 pupils for set design and painting, stage team, tech team, all staff and of course our wonderful pupils! A special thank you goes to Mr Strawson for his dedication, guidance and belief in everyone involved.
