🌈🧪 Little Scientists at Work! 🧪🌈

The children in toddler room recently became little scientists as they explored an exciting colour-mixing experiment! 🔬✨

Using pipettes, the children carefully added drops of colourful food colouring into oil, developing their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination as they squeezed and controlled the pipettes. 🖐️💧

We then poured the coloured oil into a separate container of water and watched in amazement as the colourful drops slowly travelled through the oil before falling into the water and spreading out! 🌈💦 The children were fascinated to see the colours move and change and enjoyed making predictions about what they thought might happen next. 👀🤔

To finish our experiment, we used our pipettes again to mix different coloured water together. The children discovered that by combining colours, they could create brand-new colours! 🎨🌈

This hands-on experience encouraged the children to explore cause and effect, colour mixing and early scientific thinking, while also building their concentration, coordination and confidence to experiment and discover. 🧪💡

🐱🧤 Three Little Kittens Have Lost Their Mittens! 🧤🐱

Our babies had lots of fun bringing the familiar nursery rhyme ‘Three Little Kittens’ to life through this fun, hands-on activity! 🥰

The babies used the little kittens to follow the patterned lines around the tray, helping them find their missing mittens. 🐱🧤 Along the way, they practised their counting skills, counting how many kittens and mittens they could see. 🔢

We also chatted together about the different colours of the kittens and their mittens, encouraging the babies to listen, recognise and begin naming the colours they could see. 🌈💬

A lovely activity combining early maths, colour recognition, communication and fine motor development through playful learning! 💕✨

🦷✨ Healthy Teeth in the Toddler Room! ✨🦷

Our toddlers have been focusing lots on oral hygiene and taking care of our teeth! 🪥😁 We talked all about the different ways we can keep our teeth clean and strong, including brushing regularly and making healthy choices with what we eat and drink.

We discovered that one of our favourite drinks, milk 🥛, contains calcium which helps to keep our teeth and bones strong and healthy! This led us to meet our very special new class friend… Jesy the Cow! 🐄💗

The children enjoyed a fun circle time learning about where milk comes from before having a go at milking Jesy all by themselves! They showed fantastic concentration, coordination and independence as they squeezed the udders and collected their milk. They were so proud to enjoy a delicious glass of milk that they had “milked” themselves! 🥛👏

Later that afternoon, we put our learning into practice with a fun teeth-cleaning activity! 🪥✨ Each child had a big, bright smile, but the teeth were covered in dirt and germs! The children used brushes, water and our magical toothpaste to scrub away all the dirt, watching as their teeth became clean, sparkly and healthy again! 🦷✨

It was a fantastic day of learning through play, helping the children understand how we can look after our teeth while developing their independence, fine motor skills, concentration and understanding of healthy choices. 💕🌟

Our toddlers have been exploring a variety of mark-making tools as they practise their pencil grip and develop greater control over their movements. 🖍️🖊️✨

From making big sweeping movements to creating smaller, more controlled marks, the children were building their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, concentration and hand strength— all important foundations for their future writing skills. 💪👐

They also had the freedom to experiment, make their own choices and discover the different marks and patterns they could create. 🌈📝 Most importantly, they were having fun expressing themselves and developing confidence in their early writing journey! 🥰

🌳🧢 A Little Adventure to the Village Park!🛝☀️

Our preschool children enjoyed a lovely walk to the village park, making the most of the sunshine and the opportunity to explore their local community! 🌿💛

Along the way, the children were developing their gross motor skills, balance and coordination as they climbed, balanced, swung and navigated the different equipment. 💪🤸‍♀️ They also had opportunities to build their confidence, independence and problem-solving skills, while taking turns and supporting one another as they played. 🥰

Getting out and about in the local community provides so many wonderful learning opportunities — and, of course, plenty of fun along the way! 🌳✨

🎨🌈 Colour Mixing Fun in the Toddler Room! 🌈🎨

Our toddlers have been getting creative with paints and exploring the wonderful world of colour mixing!🖌️✨ They experimented with different colours, watching with excitement as they combined them to create their very own glorious new shades. 💙💛❤️

This hands-on experience encouraged the children to develop their curiosity, creativity and concentration, while strengthening those all-important fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination as they carefully used their paintbrushes. 👐🎨

It was also a fantastic opportunity to introduce early scientific thinking as the children made predictions, explored cause and effect and discovered what happens when different colours come together! 🔬🌈

So many beautiful creations and lots of little discoveries along the way! 💕✨
