🎾 WBS Juniors, Inters & Seniors v Wellington School

Yesterday, our Juniors and Seniors travelled to Wellington School, while our Inters played at home.

There was some excellent tennis on display across all age groups, with plenty of competitive matches and enjoyable tennis throughout the afternoon. A strong set of performances from WBS across the fixtures.

Well done to all the players who represented WBS. It was great to see the commitment, effort, and positive attitude shown on court.

🎾 WBS U10 & U9 vs ARC

A lovely morning of tennis for our Prep School students against Atlantic Racquet Centre today. The morning began with a hedgehog rescue from the astro – thank you to Baz for coming to the rescue! 🦔

Our players enjoyed a fantastic mix of orange and green ball matches, competing in singles before teaming up for doubles later in the morning.

A big thank you to Atlantic Racquet Centre for making the trip to play us. It was great to see the sunshine finally make an appearance too! ☀️

🎾The Lorimer Cup 2026

On Saturday 20th June, we'll be holding the annual Lorimer Cup at school – a round-robin singles tennis event for WBS tennis players in Years 7-10.

The competition celebrates former student Eric Lorimer, who has gone on to become one of the top U16 players in Europe and is likely to compete at Junior Wimbledon again this year.

🎾Junior Inter-House Tennis

The rain held off just long enough for a fantastic afternoon of Junior Inter-House Tennis!

With all matches taking place together on the astro, there was a brilliant atmosphere throughout the competition, with students competing in mixed doubles matches.

It was fantastic to see so many students enjoying the event and representing their houses with enthusiasm👏

🏏U18 Girls' Cricket v Shebbear College

Our girls travelled away to Shebbear College this week with a young team made up mainly of Year 7–9 students, led by our Year 12, Issie.

It was a fantastic opportunity for our younger players to gain valuable experience.

What followed was a brilliant game of cricket, played in great spirit by both teams. The match went right down to the final over, with the result only being decided on the very last ball - creating plenty of drama and excitement until the end. Fortunately, the final ball went our way, giving WBS a narrow victory in a closely contested match!

The fixture provided a great learning experience for the whole team, and it was wonderful to see the younger players growing in confidence throughout the match.

A special mention goes to Issie, who led the team superbly and did a fantastic job supporting, encouraging, and guiding the younger students throughout the afternoon 👏

🎾 U13A Boys Tennis v ISCA Academy

A brilliant afternoon of tennis for our U13 boys on Monday in the LTA Youth League, finishing with a win against ISCA Academy👏

The team produced some excellent performances across the matches, with great effort and determination shown throughout. It was fantastic to see such competitive tennis played in a positive spirit by both teams.

Well done to all the boys involved and thank you to ISCA Academy for some great matches🎾
