Dulverton West North Molton Pony Club dressage team, made up of Archie M, Lucy G, Beatrice M and Purdey M made their debut at Bicton Mini Champs on Wednesday in the assisted dressage championship competition.
They all did well in the warm up class, Archie and Beatrice both won their sections.
Then came the team event where the same test was ridden again. The team performed brilliantly and came first overall with Lucy G winning her section. The top 4 riders in each arena were asked to compete in a ride off for individual placings and 3 of our team riders were competing for the top spots. The final results saw Lucy G 6th, Beatrice M 4th and Archie M 1st.
Lucy G also had a go in the unassisted dressage where she was 12th in the warm up test, 4th in her arena and then in the ride off came 3rd.
Purdey M showed great resilience in the dressage arena, being a very new partnership with her pony who mostly jumps and after a challenging first test persevered and came 12th in her second test.
All the riders and ponies are very new to dressage and coped extremely well with 5 arenas going at the same time.
