🌾 Year 4 are getting ready for the Blackthorn Awards! 🌾Year 4 have been working so hard on their farming‑history projects, using everything they learned on their farm trip and in class. There’s a real buzz as they get ready for the big celebration in a couple of weeks.

The Nature Club were super excited this week to discover that the strawberries they planted a few weeks ago are growing beautifully! 🎉🍓

Although it was a wet and rainy session ☔, the children showed great enthusiasm and perseverance, carrying on with their planting activities. 🌿💪

It was wonderful to see all of our hard work starting to pay off, and we are looking forward to watching the plants continue to grow over the coming weeks. 🌱😊

🏰 Year 5 Bring History to Life at Arlington Court! ⚔️

Year 5 had a fantastic day at Arlington Court yesterday, performing their historical re-enactment all about the English Civil War.

After spending weeks learning about this important period in history, the children had the opportunity to bring their learning to life through a promenade-style performance. Visitors followed the action around the grounds, watching a series of scenes in different locations before the children came together for a powerful and impactful finale.

The children demonstrated excellent teamwork, confidence and creativity throughout the performance, and we are incredibly proud of how they rose to the occasion. 🌟

Well done to all of Year 5 – you were absolutely fantastic! 👏

A huge thank you to Arlington Court for hosting us, and to all of the adults who supported the children and helped make our final performance such a success. 😊

🌟 Art Week Magic in Year 2! 🎨

Year 2 embraced Art Week with huge enthusiasm and plenty of creative energy. We loved the idea of sharing our own circles of joy with Year 1 — and receiving joyful circles from Year 3 in return!

🎶✨ What a fantastic evening Yeo Valley had at Arlington Court! ✨🎶

We are incredibly proud of our wonderful choirs, who performed beautifully and represented our school so well. It was a great evening filled with lovely songs, sung by our talented Key Stage choirs. 🎤🎵

A huge thank you to all our families for such a fantastic turnout and for your continued support. 👏💙

There was plenty of fun throughout the evening, and the picnic was a big hit too! 🧺☀️

Year 1 have been thoroughly enjoying Art Week and have been busy doodling and getting creative! Each child was given a circle to fill with things that bring them joy, resulting in a wonderful collection of colourful and imaginative designs. These circles will then be passed down through the school as part of a collaborative project, spreading happiness and creativity throughout our school community.

We are looking forward to taking part in more exciting activities as Art Week continues! 🎨✨

Last week, Year 3 revisited the ancient civilisations they have learned about throughout the year by exploring some of their most influential rulers, including Julius Caesar, Cleopatra, Boudicca and Tutankhamun.
The children used their knowledge to create Top Trump cards, comparing facts such as land, population, weapons and influence, before enjoying games of Top Trumps with their classmates. A fun way to celebrate and apply their historical learning!

What a fantastic trip for Year 3! 🌈🍎
As part of our Healthy Eating Project, we visited Tesco to take part in our “Eat the Rainbow” challenge, buying fruit from every colour group ready to make a delicious fruit salad later this week. The children were amazing at working together, creating shopping lists and helping each other to complete the shopping.
We also created a wonderful piece of artwork for display in Tesco Extra! Inspired by Yayoi Kusama, the children designed a vibrant rainbow filled with colourful polka-dot fruit. Keep an eye out for it on your next visit!

📚✨ Year 1 are absolutely loving reading, and it has been wonderful to see the fantastic progress they are making! The children have especially enjoyed taking part in quizzes, which are helping to develop their comprehension skills. 🧠💡
They have also loved visiting our wonderful school library, where they can explore a wide range of exciting books and discover new favourites. 📖🏫 We are so proud of their enthusiasm for reading and their growing confidence as readers! 🌟😊

🌊 Year 6 Trip to Exmouth Beach 🌊

Our Year 6 pupils had an unforgettable trip to Exmouth Beach last week, as part of their beach safety skills day!

They enjoyed a fantastic art workshop, where they printed their own designs onto fabric and paper.🎨

The children also took part in an environmental workshop, learning all about how to protect our coastline and look after marine life. 🌍

To top it all off, they even braved the sea for a swim! 🌊💙

A brilliant day filled with learning, creativity and fun. Well done, Year 6! 👏
