It’s National Dolphin Day! 🐬
we love dolphins because they are famous for looking after one another and playing together—just like we do here! Today we’re learning all about teamwork and friendship, inspired by our favorite flippered friends. 🌊

Happy National Banana Bread Day 🍌🥳

The kitchen was busy this afternoon as we tackled some banana bread muffins.
We followed a Twinkl recipe, and I have to say, the kids are officially expert banana mashers now. 👨‍🍳👩‍🍳
They look (and smell) delicious! Who else is baking something tasty today.

Happy National Hedgehog Day! 🦔 my little learners have been busy "spiking" their creativity today. The children used their cutting skills to transform cardboard and toilet rolls into these adorable hedgehogs.
To add a bit of a challenge, I set up a fine motor activity using wool. The children had to identify the written numbers on the spikes and connect them with the string. It was wonderful to see their focus and determination as they matched the numbers!

Happy International lego Day

The children have worked so hard on their fine motor skills this LEGO Day.
Learning the importance of precision lining up tge studs and applying the correct amount of pressure to snap them together.

My job feels truly meaningful when I see kids of all ages deeply engaged in their own creative process. Watching their different stages of learning come to life through building is pure magic

Red squirrel appreciation

Today, the children turned into little explorers! We spent time crafting and building squirrels, which was a great way to talk about how they look and live.

We also watched some amazing footage of squirrels in the wild. The children found it hilarious when the squirrels popped their heads right into the camera lens to find their nuts! It was a lovely way to see their features up close and learn about their habits. 🌰🧐

"We even became little nature detectives today! We learned something brand new that surprised us all—did you know red squirrels love to eat mushrooms? 🍄 They even hang them up on tree branches like little laundry lines to dry them out for later. You’re never too old (or young!) to learn something new about our forest friends!"

Happy penguin Awareness Day

Recycling meets cuteness: We made toilet roll penguins today to celebrate our favorite flightless

The children discovered that while penguins are birds, they actually can’t fly through the air. , some penguins can leap up to 9 feet out of the water to land on the ice.

They also learnt that Penguins come in all shapes and sizes. They found that while the Little Blue Penguin is the smallest in the world, the Emperor Penguin stands as the largest."

This music had us all waddling like penguins in perfect rhythm.

This month, we are exploring the wonders of Winter! Following last week’s lesson on dressing for the cold, the children put their fine motor skills to work by crafting their very own small wool hats. They did a fantastic job bringing their creations to life.

Puddle Ducks are so proud to share their beautiful pom-pom rug, a labor of love created by the children over the last few years.
This project was more than just a craft; it was a wonderful way for the children to develop their fine motor skills while enjoying the process of making something together. It’s a colorful reflection of their hard work and persistence!"

We had a wonderful morning of exploration! During free play, the children worked together to design and build impressive towers. After our snack,

we gathered for storytime to read Snow Bears.
The story introduced us to the Northern Lights, which sparked a lot of curiosity.
To bring the magic to life, we watched a video of the Aurora Borealis and had a great discussion about the vibrant colors we saw dancing across the sky.

To wrap up our morning, the children channeled that inspiration into their very own Northern Lights artwork.

Happy bread making day!

We've successfully baked a wonderful, protein-packed vegan bread using the unique and nutritious Gram flour (chickpea flour). It's going to be delicious!"
