For all those I've taught over the years-in case this is of interest, I'm now running online tutoring and some online clubs, including online Spanish.
Really looking forward to the clubs kicking off next week! We've had lots of bookings coming in.
Here's what we've got lined up:
Tuesday: Big Ideas Club, where we talk about big philosophical ideas. The first topic is Evil. What is evil? Does it actually exist? What defines it?
Wednesday: Spanish club, aimed at beginners aged 10-16. First session will cover introductions and common expressions.
Thursday: Debating Club. A chance for bright minds to spar against each other. Next week we will be debating whether the number of flights we take should be limited by the government.
Monday 6th April: We will start our book club on the 6th, givign participants time to get and read their first book. Week 1 we will be discussing The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
Clubs run from 4-5pm every day and cost £10 per session, or £50 for a block of 6. They will be on Zoom, an online video platform.
Payment is via a secure online invoice. To book a spot for your child, please do just send a message!

How to teach this? That's what I'm trying to do over the next couple of weeks.
Perhaps the most interesting part of language learning for me is the relationship culture has with language. It's easy to see why British people and British humour are often misunderstood in foreign languages; it's nigh on impossible to translate a sense of humour or to translate sarcasm to an audience who doesn't use it.

To keep you updated... I am now teaching in Austria until the end of May, and am loving the scenery and the people here!
Hopefully I will bring some of the experiences I gain from the next 7 months to the next instalment of Hola camps in Summer 2017, to make them bigger and better than they have been before!
Stay tuned.
Bis bald, or, in the local Austrian dialect, Pfiat dich.
