🚌 🏛️ The children had a little adventure on the bus yesterday! We went to the museum, and they absolutely loved the journey as much as the visit itself.

Today was a very exciting day as our nursery dog officially joined us! 🥰

There have already been lots of happy faces, gentle introductions and plenty of excitement as the children got to meet their new four-legged friend. 🐾 💕

We’re looking forward to all the wonderful experiences, learning opportunities, cuddles and memories we’ll share together.

Good oral health starts from the very beginning! Even baby teeth play an important role in helping children eat, speak clearly and develop healthy adult teeth.

At nursery, we encourage children to learn about looking after their teeth through fun, age-appropriate activities. Brushing twice a day with fluoride toothpaste, choosing healthy snacks and drinks, and visiting the dentist regularly can all help keep little smiles healthy. 🪥💙

Applications for children starting Reception in September 2027 will open on the 15th November 2026 and close on the 15th January 2027.

📢 Important: The Local Authority will no longer send invitation letters to parents and carers reminding them to apply.

If your child is due to start school in Reception in September 2027, you can register now to receive an email or text reminder when the application system goes live on the 15th November 2026.

🧍‍♀️🧍‍♂️ This week we've been learning all about our bodies!

Our children have been exploring the different parts of the body through fun songs, stories, creative activities, and interactive games.

They enjoyed naming body parts, discovering what our bodies can do, and talking about how to keep ourselves healthy and strong.

Learning about our bodies helps children develop their vocabulary, understand how they grow, and build confidence in talking about themselves. It also encourages healthy habits and supports their understanding of personal care and wellbeing.

With the sunny weather here, we're making the most of our outdoor play while staying safe in the sunshine. 🌞

Please remember to apply suncream to your child before they arrive at nursery and ensure they have a named bottle of suncream that we can reapply throughout the day if needed.

Don't forget a named sun hat too – it helps keep little faces cool and protected while they enjoy outdoor adventures. 🧴👒

🌞 Heatwave Update 🌞

We wanted to reassure all our families that Duckies will remain open during the current heatwave.
Our setting is fully air-conditioned, helping us keep children and staff comfortable and safe throughout the day.

To protect the children from the hottest part of the day, we will not be using the outdoor area after 11am and will be planning plenty of fun indoor activities and learning opportunities.

Please can we ask all parents and carers to apply sun cream to their child before arriving at nursery each morning. Please also supply your child with a named bottle of suncream in their nursey bags as well as a sun hat.
