Hi everyone, just a quick note to say my phone has broken 😢, so I may be a little slower to respond over the next few days while I sort a replacement.

Please bear with me, and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.
Thanks so much for your patience 🌿

A little look back at yesterday’s Wild Literacy session 🌿

The rain came down… but the shelter was up, and the learning didn’t stop.

We went on the hunt for descriptive words, sounding them out and writing them ready to use in our own sentences about our nature creatures.

So much resilience from the children- not letting the weather get in the way.

We practised:
– sounding out words to write
– using capital letters and full stops
– building expanded noun phrases

Learning outdoors, in all weathers, building confidence every step of the way ✨

If you’re interested in your child joining us from September, comment 'Barnstaple' or 'Bideford' below.

Or, if your child would enjoy trying a session out during this block, you can book a space or find out more by messaging me, or comment 'TRIAL' 💚

Wild Tutoring group sessions are back again tomorrow 🥳✨ Showers are due 🌦️the shelter will be up ⛺, waterproof, cushioned mats ready on the picnic blanket to keep bottoms warm 😆

In Wild Literacy, we'll be moving around, searching for words, creating nature creatures and writing about them 💚
In Wild Maths, we'll be playing a game of Nim, creating a physical number line together, and playing a few different games with balls, linking to maths of course! 🌿🤗

Only 1 space left on Wild Literacy, 10-11am for EHE children aged 6-9 years. To book message me on 07828145016 💚

A little snapshot of recent outdoor creativity 🌿

Egg creatures were made, even with the addition of googly eyes 👀 We had lots of discussions about where they might live.

After creating their characters, we explored what would make the best nest.

Twigs, leaves, grass… testing ideas, solving problems, and working together.

It was a simple activity with lots of enthusiasm and it sparked some super ideas!

We’ll be doing something similar in our first Wild Literacy session this Thursday… creating our own nature creatures, building them homes, and writing all about them ✨

There is currently 1 space remaining if your child would love to join us 🌿 The weather is looking showery, so I imagine we'll have our ⛺ up!

🌿Only 4 days to go until our next Wild Tutoring block begins at Rock Park, Barnstaple, this coming Thursday! 🎉

Very nearly all of the spaces are filled and I’m so looking forward to welcoming back familiar faces, as well as meeting some new ones.

There is just 1 space remaining in our Wild Literacy group. It would be perfect for a child who enjoys learning in a small, supportive group, building friendships, and learning through movement outdoors.

If you have any questions about how our sessions work, feel free to message me 💚

Why teach maths outdoors? 🌿

Maths doesn’t have to feel abstract or overwhelming.

Outside, it becomes something children can see, touch and experience.

Instead of worksheets, children might be:
– measuring using natural objects
– solving real problems through making maps and exploring direction
– exploring numbers through movement and hands-on games

And that’s where the magic happens ✨

When learning feels real:
✔ understanding deepens
✔ confidence grows
✔ children are more willing to have a go

For many children, especially those who find maths tricky, being outdoors reduces pressure and opens the door to learning again.

Add in fresh air, space to move, and small group support…
and children don’t just learn maths, they enjoy it!

Spaces are now open for September sessions in Barnstaple and Bideford 💚
If you’d like more information or to book a space on Wild Maths, feel free to message me on 07828 145016 🤗

Spending time outdoors can have such a positive impact on children’s wellbeing...

It can help them feel calmer, more focused, and more confident, while naturally encouraging curiosity and creativity.

For many children, it’s where learning feels easier, more engaging, and more enjoyable.

This is at the heart of every Wild Tutoring session 💚

Where is your child's favourite outdoor space? I'd love to know 🤗
