💛 2-YEAR-OLD FUNDING – ADDITIONAL SUPPORT 💛

If your child isn’t eligible for the Working Families funding, you may still be able to receive 15 hours of funded childcare for your 2-year-old through the additional support/disadvantaged funding scheme.

This funding has different eligibility criteria, so it’s definitely worth checking even if you don’t qualify for the Working Families scheme.

📅 WHEN CAN THE FUNDING START?

Your child must have turned 2 by:

✔️ 31st August → funding can start in September
✔️ 31st December → funding can start in January
✔️ 31st March → funding can start in April

📍 BARNSLEY FAMILIES

You can check the eligibility criteria and apply through Barnsley Council:

[Barnsley – 15 hours free childcare for 2-year-olds receiving additional support](https://www.barnsley.gov.uk/services/children-young-people-and-families/childcare-and-nurseries/15-hours-free-childcare-for-2-year-olds-receiving-additional-support/?utm_source=chatgpt.com)

📍 ROTHERHAM FAMILIES

Contact Families Information Service directly to check whether your child may be eligible:

☎️ 0800 073 0230

❤️ Please remember: this is a different funding route with different eligibility requirements to the 30 Hours Funded Childcare for Working Parents. So if you don't qualify for one scheme, it is still worth checking whether you qualify for the other.

🌟 APPLY FOR 30 HOURS FUNDED CHILDCARE 🌟

Did you know that eligible working parents in England may be able to receive 30 hours of funded childcare per week for children aged 9 months to 4 years? The 30 hours are available for 38 weeks of the year, although some childcare providers may offer the option to stretch the hours across more weeks.

👶 WHEN CAN I APPLY?

You can apply from when your child is 23 weeks old. If your application is approved, you’ll receive an 11-digit eligibility code, which you need to give to your childcare provider.

📅 WHEN WILL MY CHILD’S FUNDING START?

Funding starts from one of three points during the year, depending on when your child turns 9 months old:

✔️ Turns 9 months between 1 September – 31 December → funding can start 1 January

✔️ Turns 9 months between 1 January – 31 March → funding can start 1 April

✔️ Turns 9 months between 1 April – 31 August → funding can start 1 September

You must apply by the relevant deadline for that funding period.

🔐 IMPORTANT – YOU MUST RECONFIRM YOUR CODE

Once you have your childcare account and eligibility code, it doesn’t stop there!

You must log into your childcare account every 3 months and reconfirm that your details are still up to date and that you remain eligible. This keeps your childcare code valid.

We strongly recommend setting yourself a reminder so you don’t forget your reconfirmation date. ❤️

📲 READY TO APPLY?

You can check your eligibility, create your childcare account and apply through the official GOV.UK service here:

[Apply for Free Childcare for Working Parents on GOV.UK](https://www.gov.uk/free-childcare-if-working?utm_source=chatgpt.com)
