🍂 Week 4 at Little Lads and Lasses 🍂

It’s been a slightly different week here, as I stayed closed for the first couple of days to make sure everyone stayed safe after illness. Thank you for your understanding. 🤎

The rest of the week has been full of lovely little moments. We’ve enjoyed catching up with our friends at playgroups, celebrated lots of running, crawling and army crawling, and filled our days with chatter, babbles and growing confidence.

One of my favourite moments this week? Looking around the room to find toys and books everywhere. Not because it’s messy—but because it shows children feeling safe and confident enough to choose, explore, revisit and lead their own play. Those little moments of curiosity are where so much learning happens. ✨

As the days begin to feel cooler, we’re embracing the cosy rhythm of autumn together, with a warm tea, gentle play and plenty of opportunities to explore at each child’s own pace.

Here’s to more autumn adventures next week. 🍁

✨ Week 3 at Little Lads and Lasses ✨

What a wonderfully busy week of autumnal adventures, little discoveries and lots of fun! 🍂

This week has been filled with exploring, creating and making the most of every opportunity to learn through play.

🍁 Autumn crafts and creative play in the garden, including some beautiful baby autumnal art.

🐞 Trips to the park and lots of free play, allowing little minds to lead the way and imaginations to grow.

📚 Singing, rhyming and plenty of story time at the library — because of course, no week would be complete without lots of books!

🐣 Baby playgroups and playgroup adventures with our friends, building confidence, friendships and enjoying new experiences together.

🦆 Big walks around Manvers Lake, stopping to admire the ‘duckies’ and taking in all the sights and sounds of the outdoors.

🌿 A Gruffalo-inspired messy play invitation, bringing one of our favourite stories to life through sensory exploration.

🛍️ And a little exploring of everything the market has to offer, discovering the world around us along the way!

From muddy fingers and messy play to gentle story times and exciting adventures, it’s been another lovely week of learning through creative exploration.

I’m so proud of how much confidence, curiosity and independence is growing each day. 💛

Today we ventured deep into the deep, dark wood… 🌲✨

To celebrate the birthday of the wonderful Julia Donaldson, I created a little Gruffalo-inspired messy play adventure for the children at Little Lads and Lasses.

Our tray was transformed into a woodland world, complete with crunchy woodland paths, crumbly Gruffalo soil and some familiar faces hiding amongst the trees. 🦊🦉🐍

There was lots to explore with little hands, as the children discovered textures, made marks, moved the characters through the woodland and brought one of their favourite stories to life through imaginative play.

I love how a story can open the door to so many opportunities for learning, creativity and wonder.

Happy Birthday, Julia Donaldson! Thank you for creating magical worlds that little minds can wander into time and time again. 📚🍂🤎

A little mirror magic before we headed off to Sing & Rhyme at the library today. ✨

Sharing this sweet moment with the babies was such a joy. They were completely fascinated by their reflections—and even more delighted by my silly faces! Their smiles, giggles and curious little eyes made the moment extra special as they discovered the funny faces looking back at them.

It’s often the simplest moments that bring the biggest smiles and create the most beautiful connections.

Then, with happy faces and plenty of excitement, off we went for songs, rhymes and adventures at the library! 📚🎶

🍂✨ Week 2 at Little Lads & Lasses ✨🍂

What a beautiful little week we’ve had! 💛

Another week of muddy shoes, little discoveries, lots of exploring and making memories together. 🥰

We’ve had an autumnal adventure at Cannon Hall, collecting beautiful fallen leaves, watching the squirrels scamper about and even going on the hunt for dragons along the Monsters Trail! 🐿️🐉🍁

We also had a lovely day at Wigfield Farm, meeting up with some of my childminder friends. The children had the best time seeing all the animals, exploring together and enjoying the simple magic of being outdoors. 🐑🐄🌿

Our week has also been filled with baby groups, new faces, familiar friends and lots of opportunities to play and explore. 💕 And, of course, we couldn’t finish the week without a little picnic at Locke Park 🧺🌳 — sunshine, fresh air, happy little faces and some very yummy picnic treats!

It really has been one of those weeks where the little things have made the loveliest memories. 🍂

I feel so lucky that I get to be part of these everyday adventures — watching little personalities grow, friendships begin and confidence blossom along the way. 🌱💕

Another week full of tiny adventures, big imaginations and lots of happy moments.

Roll on week 3… I wonder where our little adventures will take us next? ✨💛

🍂✨ Week Two Begins… ✨🍂

Week two has begun with a magical adventure at Cannon Hall. Together, we explored the beautiful grounds, collecting fallen leaves in every shade imaginable and stopping to watch the squirrels play as they darted through the trees.

We wandered along the Monster Trail, but with a little imagination, those friendly monsters soon became magnificent dragons hiding amongst the woodland, just waiting to be discovered. 🐉🍁

I love watching little imaginations come to life through nature. Every leaf, stick and tiny treasure we collect holds the promise of something wonderful, and I can’t wait to see what magical creations unfold from today’s adventure.

Nature really is the most inspiring classroom. 💚
