Creative Cubs Childminding

I’m so grateful to say that my childminding setting is now nearly full! 💕
Thank you so much to all the families who have chosen and trusted me to look after their little ones. I feel very lucky to do what I do every day.

It’s been another fun day keeping the little (and big) ones busy!

A nice little walk around the park this morning before it got too hot, then back to the garden to cool off with some water and sand play.

Yesterday the children enjoyed a fun and engaging day filled with learning opportunities. In the morning, we visited the park where the children developed their physical skills, confidence, and social interactions through active play.

Back at the setting, the children took part in messy play, exploring different textures and materials to support their sensory development and curiosity.

In the afternoon, the children planted vegetables to take home, helping them learn about growth, change, and caring for living things as they continue to observe their plants grow over time.
We also checked on the vegetables we planted earlier in the year, noticing how much they have grown and talking about when they will be ready to harvest soon for some healthy snacks! 🥕🌱

Our shop has been a fantastic new addition, the children absolutely loved it! We chatted about lots of different foods, with some big favourites and a few that got some funny “not so sure” faces 😄
Messy play was lots of fun too! Everyone enjoyed filling up the cups, hiding the animals, and squishing, pouring, and exploring all the different textures.
And of course...bubbles! Everyone loves bubbles! 🫧

Lovely way to end the week! Spent the morning at Playgroots adventure cafe with my own little girl, enjoying lots of smiles, playtime, and a great chance to connect with other childminders at their event.

Yesterday we enjoyed a lovely mix of creative play, outdoor learning and calm time 💛

We explored painting using cut-up potatoes and shaped sponges, supporting creativity and fine motor skills. We then went for a walk, picking flowers and exploring the outdoors, even getting a little wet!

After a busy morning, we enjoyed some quiet time before naps, relaxing with a sticker book and winding down together.

🌱 Planting the Seeds for Learning 🌱

We’ve been getting our hands a little muddy planting seeds for our very own vegetable patch! 🥕🥬

I can’t wait to watch these grow with the children and use it as a wonderful opportunity to talk about how food grows, what plants need to thrive, and the importance of caring for our environment.

Activities like this help children learn patience, responsibility, and curiosity about the world around them – plus it’s so much fun getting outside and learning through doing! 🌞
