Over the last few weeks we have been looking at the lifecycle of a caterpillars. We were lucky enough to get our own caterpillar eggs. We have loved looking at them and watching them develop and evolve from tiny eggs into caterpillars. Currently our caterpillars are hibernating in their chrysalisβ and we are eagerly awaiting on them the hatch. π₯ π π¦

Reading stories to young children is crucial for brain development, language acquisition and building cognitive skills like memory and focus. We have a select group of core books that we read with our children over and over again to enable memory recall and to develop a love of books so that children can gain confidence in repeating refrains. When deciding which book to read for that group, the children problem solve by voting for their favourite story and realising that the highest number will have their turn first.
Today, our children wanted a story in the garden π

We have been super busy here at VDN doing lots of planting. We loved getting messy in the soil and have spoken about what seeds need to be able to grow. We know that most seeds need soil, water and lots of sunshine. We have also planted some bean sprout seeds, these do not need soil and must be kept in a dark place. These are some of our photographs so far and we will keep updating as our seeds begin to grow π±πͺ΄
