Happy St George’s day everyone.

Fight report.

Series of ups and downs this weekend with bens original opponent failing to make it to the fight as agreed and a new & much tougher opponent been arranged on a days notice.

Round 1
Ben came out strong, landing better shots and keeping a high pace.

Round 2
Callum came out much faster than round 1 and caught Ben off guard with more variety of shots keeping Ben at bay for the moment. Close round which was probably taken by Callum due to shot variety, leading to a final round both needed to win.

Round 3
Callum once again started strong but this time Ben was ready for it a pushed forward more, landing the cleaner strikes. Forward aggression and clean effective strikes brought this round in for Ben to finish with a win by judges decision and now a chance to fight in Thailand on the worlds premier kickboxing organisation ONE championship.

Cracking day of fights, one of the best shows of the year. All top class fights.

We had 3 fighting on the day 2 wins, 1 loss.
Lewis had first fight syndrome (head down and windmill) and lost a decision. Came back strong after suffering an early knockdown and showed great determination and some great body kicks.

Then onto the main card and 2 international fights.
Kye beating his Belgian opponent on points. The Belgian was great technically and showed flashes of skills but Kye was just too strong and didn’t let his opponent get too much off.

Main even of the evening for Ben and it couldn’t have gone any worse until the final round. A mixture of ring rust after over a year out and little niggling injuries in the lead up contributing to the performance however the measure of a fighter is how they deal with controversy in the ring when things are going against them.
Probably 3-1 down on the score cards going into the final round and needing a ko to win and boy did he deliver.
Came out stronger in the final round and delivered a vicious body shot that left his opponent on the canvas spitting blood for the 10 count and completing a really top class win against a top class opponent.

Scorching hot in gym today. Absolutely smashed it these lads on their grading though. The best performances of any gradings so far by all of them.
