Meh. This didn't go at all how I wanted. I saw something on Instagram and thought I'd give it a go, but it was one of those days where things are a struggle and I wasn't happy with my grip...but nothing is ever a complete fail. This might not look like much, but it's a nice little position to slot in the middle of a spinning combination, somewhere between a TWIST and a GENIE, or a JASMINE - which is always one of my favourite go-to moves.

I'm upside down again, which is where I'm usually most comfortable.
This one isn't too dissimilar from GOLDRUSH, which is actually taught not too far along your learning journey...after you've mastered your invert, obviously.
Nobody's pole journey looks the same. There's no wrong or right to how fast you grasp.things, and having a basic foundation of strength might assist your learning pace, but it isn't essential, because you build your strength through the weeks. As you master the more basic moves, your strength and confidence increases, and the necessary muscles and flexibility for those tougher skills.
Book here if you think you'd like to give it a go.

Here's another variation of that MARTINI with switched grip from earlier in the week, although it looks very different without the extended leg. Personally I think I prefer it this way, and it feels more secure, even with that second hand not gripping anything.
Which do you prefer the look of?

Here's a little MARTINI variation I stumbled across. I normally love MARTINIS (drink or pole move, I'm not fussy), but this felt a little weird, and not particularly comfortable, with both arms around the pole the opposite way to normal. You don't always realise how helpful that inside elbow grip is until it's not there!!

Sticking with the popular handstands doing the rounds at the moment, here's a BRASS MONKEY HANDSTAND VARIATION, possibly closer to an INVERTED GLAMOUR. This one didn't cause me as much trouble as the RUSSIAN LAYBACK HANDSTAND from earlier in the week, but LAYBACKS that DON'T rely on my thigh grip have always made me a little nervous!
What moves worry you the most? SITS seem to cause the most pain for most people, but I think the majority are with me on the LAYBACK fear!! 🤣🤣

Today was one of those days where no moves seemed to be going right! And when they did, I didn't get a picture of it!! So, as handstands and low moves are the current trend, I gave this RUSSIAN LAYBACK HANDSTAND pose a go, and when I didn't get a photo of my top foot pointed and NOT clinging to the pole for dear life, I wasn't in the mood to give it another go!! 🤣 Maybe next time!

WRIST SITS are rarely comfortable, but the main problem with this one was trying to get my left foot over the pole and into position. Attempting to get the right angle for this photo meant enough goes at the move to give me a bruised ankle!...and the dismount wasn't particularly attractive either!!
