Nearly 4 years since my last post and longer since the last firing. Well, it seems i have a new student.
Going to spend tomorrow retrieving burners and kit from North Yorkshire and prep a wheel to go to their home.
Have put the clear glaze on the slipware I did 4 years ago and will start the kiln up when I get back.
What did surprise me is that I have only a few mugs and a jug left in stock.
Time to make some more.

First glaze firing done, in new kiln.
Dobel slip not working well on st Patrick’s white. Got blisters under the slip? Did the slip go fully stoneware before the st Patrick’s? Glaze is unbroken.

Know to throw a load of mugs and plates.

So took the plunge. I am no longer reliant on the kindness of friends, to fire my work.
Picked up a little electric kiln!

I will fire this with a clear Raku glaze.
Design turned out nice!
11 inch shallow bowl.

Baileys red with a light chun wash.
Got nice flashes of red and interestingly a lustre on the darker areas!
