About Us

The Yorkshire Military Band is one of the premier civilian military bands in the United Kingdom.

Based in the centre of Barnsley, South Yorkshire, the band is located near to the M1 Motorway which makes it ideal for the travelling that it undertakes due to the variety of its engagements, ranging from concerts supporting charities in the local community to high profile performances across the UK and internationally.

Although the band attracts players who are military veterans, the majority of its membership consists of players from the local community. There are also a few members who travel in to rehearsals from further afield primarily because they not only seek a professional band like this one but because of the performance opportunities that are available.
