🚨 WARNING: FRAUDSTERS IMPERSONATING SOUTH YORKSHIRE POLICE

South Yorkshire Police has issued an urgent warning after reports of fraudulent phone calls being made to members of the public while appearing to come from a genuine police number.

⚠️ The calls are NOT from South Yorkshire Police.

The fraudulent calls are being made to look as though they originate from 0114 219 6905.

People answering the calls have reportedly been given a range of stories, including claims that:

🔹 Someone they know is being held in police custody
🔹 Police have supposedly found their passport
🔹 The call relates to cryptocurrency
🔹 Their banking or financial information is required

In some cases, callers have also provided the email address [email protected]. Police have confirmed with the Metropolitan Police that this is not a legitimate police email address.

📞 WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?

If you receive a suspicious call appearing to come from 0114 219 6905, police advice is do not answer it.

Never provide personal information, passwords, banking details or other financial information to an unexpected caller.

If you do answer and something doesn't seem right, hang up.

🏦 Anyone who has already provided financial information should contact their bank immediately and make a report to Report Fraud.

Please share this warning, particularly with elderly or vulnerable relatives, friends and neighbours who could potentially be targeted.

Our new exercise class is going great guns, slight time change , so starting at 12.30, so you can come for bacon butties and stay to work off the extra calories. The class members are loving it, excellent reports from male participant who is shocked at how much he is enjoying it.

Just a shout out of thanks for all the folk who quietly help
Out in the background to keep things running smoothly up at the hall. Coffee mornings with bacon butties happen, hall gets opened, the money is kept in order, the plants get watered, running repairs happen, and when we have to call in a tradesperson we usually get pointed in the right direction.
The flag monitor gets up at dawn to get the right flag up, and keeps the lawn mowing team in order.
There are no tooth fairies just hard working volunteers so please give them a like
